Abstract

Improvements to seats (1) of inter-city buses or coaches, wherein the arm-rest (4) of the seat (1) remaining on the central corridor of the vehicle does not extend beyond the side of said seat (1). To this effect, the side of the back-rest (2) which is facing the side of the central corridor is provided with a recess (3) which receives the arm-rest (4) in the retracted position upwards or inoperative position, with the object that in such position the arm-rest (4) does not extend beyond the side of the seat (1) thereby enabling the passengers to move and walk comfortably along the central corridor of the vehicle. Furthermore, such seats have been provided at their back with an independent and fixed part which is arranged at the lower portion of the back of the seat and at the upper area of which the remainder of the back is hinged.
