Abstract

A drum for dispensing a wiping material in a dispensing apparatus, including a cutting device (5) and coacting with a pressure element (6) so that the sheet of material to be cut may be inserted therebetween. The drum and the pressure element are built into the housing of the dispensing apparatus, and one 360 DEG rotation of the drum enables a length of material to be dispensed. The drum (4) contains means enabling adjustment as programmed by a mechanism (24, 25) for selecting the length of sheet material to be dispensed on the basis of minimum and maximum values and a differential amplitude.
