EN GENERAL, EL METODO PARA DETERMINAR LA CONCENTRACION DE UNA PROTEINA MARCADORA INCLUYE: (1) ADICION DE UNA CANTIDAD CONOCIDA DE UN COMPUESTO INTERNO ESTANDAR A UNA MUESTRA QUE CONTIENE AL MENOS UNA PROTEINA, EL COMPUESTO INTERNO ESTANDAR SELECCIONADO DEL GRUPO QUE CONSTA DE ACIDO BENZOICO SUSTITUIDO CON AL MENOS UN HALOGENO, PRODUCIENDO UNA SEÑAL DETECTORA EN RELACION A SU CONCENTRACION, Y SIENDO CAPAZ DE LA SEPARACION ELECTROFORETICA DE LA PROTEINA; (2) SOMETIMIENTO DE LA MUESTRA Y DEL COMPUESTO INTERNO ESTANDAR A ELECTROFORESIA CAPILAR PARA SEPARAR ENTRE SI LA PROTEINA Y EL COMPUESTO INTERNO ESTANDAR Y DE OTROS COMPONENTES EN LA MUESTRA; (3) MEDICION DE LA SEÑAL DETECTORA PRODUCIDA POR EL COMPUESTO ESTANDAR INTERNO Y UNA SEÑAL DETECTORA PRODUCIDA POR LA PROTEINA PARA DETERMINAR UNA PROPORCION DE SEÑAL DE PROTEINA A LA SEÑAL INTERNA ESTANDAR; Y (4) DETERMINACION DE LA CONCENTRACION DE LA PROTEINA EN LA MUESTRA A PARTIR DE UNA CURVA ESTANDAR DE CONCENTRACION DE PROTEINA FRENTE A LA PROPORCION DE SEÑAL DE PROTEINA EN LA SEÑAL INTERNA ESTANDAR.
