Abstract

A air heater for a motor vehicle interior comprises strips of PTC elements assembled in a frame whose opposing limbs 44,46 are convex in the untensioned state so as to be distorted to brace the element assembly. Alternatively the frame may be a two part structure 152 tensioned together by resilient clips 168. Each element strip comprising PTC components assembled in a carrier 26, terminal plates 20,22 being secured with the strip. Corrugated heat dispersing elements 16 act as electrical connectors between adjacent strips.
