Abstract
Procedimiento para la obtención de magnesio, a la presión atmosférica, por reducción de su óxido, mediante agentes reductores que contienen aluminio, en un horno de inducción. El procedimiento se efectúa en un horno de inducción cerrado a la atmósfera, pero conectado a través de un conducto con una cámara de condensación, alimentándose el horno con agentes oxidantes, que contienen óxido de magnesio, y con agentes reductores, que contienen aluminio, y calentándose la mezcla de agentes oxidantes y reductores mediante transferencia de calor desde el aluminio, el cual, a su vez, se calienta debido al movimiento de sus electrones provocado por la existencia del campo magnético alternante del horno de inducción.
