Abstract

Method for the preparation of β-lactam antibiotics using enzyme acylation of an amino acid derivative and an amino-β-lactam compound, at a pH level in which the β-lactam antibiotic is fully soluble, and where, from the flow of remaining products after acylation, when the pH is modified, the expected β-lactam antibiotic is precipitated and the remaining aqueous mixture undergoes electrodialysis at a pH between 2 and 8.<IMAGE>
