Abstract

A storage unit for a gas container comprising: 1. a chassis 12; 2. a platform 15 for supporting a gas container 11; 3. a weighing means coupling the platform to the chassis to output a signal representing the weight of the container and its contents; 4. a gas sensor located by means of the chassis or platform or extension thereof at a location beneath the container 11 to signal the presence of gas emanating from the container; 5. a control unit adapted to receive the signals and to display the weight of the container and its gas content or of the gas content or of a function thereof; and to generate at least one visual or audible alarm signal, or a combination thereof, characteristic of a gas leak. <IMAGE>
