Abstract

Un método para producir dióxido de carbono que comprende: (A) proporcionar a un caldo de fermentación que comprende una o más especies carbonáceas un fluido enriquecido en oxígeno; (B) emplear oxígeno del fluido enriquecido en oxígeno para promover el crecimiento microbiano dentro del caldo de fermentación, llevar a cabo la fermentación dentro del caldo de fermentación, y producir dióxido de carbono dentro del caldo de fermentación en un recipiente de fermentación; (C) hacer que salga una corriente de caldo de fermentación del recipiente de fermentación, atravesando un intercambiador de calor, y luego retornarla el recipiente de fermentación en un bucle de recirculación; (D) burbujear dióxido de carbono fuera del caldo de fermentación para formar una mezcla gaseosa que tiene una concentración de dióxido de carbono de al menos 97, 5 por ciento en moles; y (E) recuperar dicha mezcla gaseosa como dióxido de carbono producto.
