Abstract
Un método para la lixiviación de concentrados sulfurados de zinc a presión atmosférica, en tanque abierto, integrado en un proceso hidrometalúrgico convencional (tostación-lixiviación- electrolisis). La lixiviación del concentrado de zinc se lleva a cabo en dos etapas en contracorriente, utilizando como oxidante del sulfuro un precipitado de hidróxido férrico que se genera en una etapa de neutralización-oxidación de la solución procedente de la lixiviación, del concentrado de sulfuro de zinc. Para favorecer la oxidación con aire atmosférico de los iones ferrosos generados durante la extracción del zinc, se neutraliza la disolución hasta pH 4.5-5.0 con calcine procedente de la tostación. En estas condiciones el hierro (III) precipita en forma de hidróxido.
