Abstract

Un procedimiento para limpiar suelos contaminados con mercurio que comprende: a. tamizar los suelos contaminados para separar los materiales no deseados de los suelos contaminados; b. llevar los suelos contaminados tamizados a un separador magnético para retirar los restos de metales y producir suelos de la corriente principal; c. separar los suelos de la corriente principal en una fracción de tamaño superior a la media y una fracción de tamaño inferior a la media; d. dirigir la fracción de tamaño superior a la media a un triturador; e. tamizar la fracción triturada de tamaño superior a la media para separar una fracción no de suelo de las partículas del suelo trituradas; f. combinar las partículas del suelo trituradas con la fracción de partículas de tamaño inferior a la media de la etapa (c) para producir una fracción de tamaño inferior a la media combinada y alimentar la fracción de tamaño inferior a la media combinada a un reactor de tornillo sin fin; g. añadir hipoclorito al reactor detornillo sin fin para lixiviar la fracción de tamaño inferior a la media combinada; h. separar la fracción de tamaño inferior a la media lixiviada para dividir la fracción en una fracción gruesa limpia y una fracción arenosa/de finos lixiviada; i. aclarar la fracción gruesa con agua o una solución de salmuera; j. tamizar la fracción gruesa aclarada para recuperar una fracción gruesa limpia de cualquier fracción arenosa/de finos mezclada con la fracción gruesa, y k. combinar cualquier fracción arenosa/de finos recuperada con la fracción arenosa/de finos de la etapa (h) y alimentar la fracción arenosa/de finos combinada a un primer espesador por gravedad para separar los sólidos de los líquidos.
