Abstract
Waste material from a mussel cooking process is ground, dried and calcinated before being ground again and screened using a vibrating screen. A process for recycling industrial waste generated in a mussel cooking process comprises supplying the waste material to a collection hopper for addition to an endless screw conveyor leading into a feed hopper with a dosing plate in communication with a hammer mill. Material added to the mill is ground down in and dried before being added to a calcination oven for eliminating organic material. A grinding system for the calcinated material includes a vibrating screen, the residue on the screen being either returned to the grinding step or supplied to a storage silo.
