EL OXIGENO SE RECUPERA DE UN GAS CALIENTE, COMPRIMIDO QUE CONTIENE OXIGENO, PREFERIBLEMENTE AIRE, MEDIANTE UN SISTEMA DE MEMBRANA DE TRANSPORTE DE IONES SELECTIVO AL OXIGENO. EL GAS CALIENTE, A PRESION QUE NO HA PASADO A TRAVES DE LA MEMBRANA SE ENFRIA Y EL TRABAJO UTIL SE RECUPERA A PARTIR DEL MISMO MEDIANTE SU EXPANSION A TEMPERATURAS POR DEBAJO DE LA TEMPERATURA DE FUNCIONAMIENTO DE LA MEMBRANA. EL TRABAJO RECUPERADO SE UTILIZA JUNTO CON EL PRODUCTO DE OXIGENO QUE HA PASADO A TRAVES DE LA MEMBRANA EN APLICACIONES TALES COMO LA COMBUSTION ENRIQUECIDA CON OXIGENO DE COMBUSTIBLES LIQUIDOS, PROCESOS DE FABRICACION DE PULPA DE MADERA, PRODUCCION DE ACERO Y OPERACIONES PARA LA FABRICACION DE METALES. EL PROCESO DE OXIGENO QUE HA TRASPASADO LA MEMBRANA PUEDE SER COMPRIMIDO UTILIZANDO UN COMPRESOR DE GAS IMPULSADO POR LA EXPANSION DEL GAS A PRESION ENFRIADO QUE NO TRASPASO LA MEMBRANA.
