Abstract

A spring-operated motor start-up system appropriate for starting internal combustion engines including motor hoes, motor driven pumps, lawnmowers, power saws, electric generators, small vessels and many other machines incorporating this kind of motor, characterised by tightening a spring (2) connected to the motor shaft, using a ratchet wrench (16) or similar device, in the direction opposite to the movement of the motor shaft, causing the spring (2) to tighten, at the same time as it is automatically braked by some parts (5, 6, 7, 8) while other parts (3 and 11) form the housing or chassis of the assembly. This manoeuvre is undertaken by operating the ratchet wrench (16) until the spring (2) is wound to its maximum, and then letting the spring (2) spin in the starting direction until the motor shaft also moves in that direction.
