Abstract

Module for the visual indication of deceleration and braking on motor vehicles. It has two additional lights, one red (A) and the other amber or yellow (B). The red light comes on when the brake is activated and goes off when it is released. The amber light comes on when the accelerator is activated and goes off when the accelerator or the brakes are used. The invention is suitable for driving in urban areas and in heavy traffic. The unit will be located in the rear-centre as in Fig. 1, it could also be in the upper area, or elsewhere, depending on the vehicle. IT can have different variations according to the type of illumination employed. The principal variation is as shown in Fig. 3 - Light Emitting Diodes - optional variations are as shown in Fig. 2, incandescent bulbs and Fig. 4, Bi-colour Light Emitting Diodes.
