Abstract

Sistema de control de la incontinencia, micción, defecación y erección en pacientes con neuropatías a partir de la estimulación en corriente de las raíces sacras, está basado en un estimulador implantable alimentado por batería y controlado por microprocesador. Su programación se realiza a través de un PC, a fin de poder definir diferentes modos de funcionamiento, este dispositivo se denomina "programador". La activación de los programas puede ser realizada desde el programador o también utilizando un aparato portátil de pequeño tamaño, denominado "comando". El comando permite al paciente iniciar o parar la ejecución de cualquiera de los programas previamente cargados por el médico. La comunicación del estimulador con el programador y el comando se realizarán por telemetría.
