Abstract

Un método para tratar aguas residuales obtenidas del proceso de ácido tricloroisocianúrico, que comprende, como primera etapa, la eliminación del cloro activo de las aguas residuales, seguido de la dición de iones de calcio, en cantidades de 1,2 a 3,0 moles por 1 mol de ácido cianúrico presente en las aguas residuales decloradas, preferiblemente en presencia de un hidróxido de metal alcalino, para lograr un pH mayor que 11. Se agita la mezcla resultante, y se separa la suspensión resultante de sales de calcio del ácido cianúrico, y se añade un ácido mineral para lograr una reacción ácida, y la temperatura se mantiene dentro de un intervalo de 40ºC a 100ºC, luego la mezcla se enfría y se separan cristales de ácido cianúrico.
