Abstract

At least two weakened lines (1,2) are positioned on the mechanically produced right and left hand side of the letter envelope (5), packet or wrapper. When the envelope is produced, a tear-off strip (6) with double the thickness of paper and at least two weakened lines with one thickness of paper are produced. A second weakened line (3,4) preferably as a bend line is positioned above the first perforation line (1,2). The width of the strip matches the paper thickness. The tear-off strip is positioned preferably 10 millimetres from the inside of the envelope. A hole (8) is punched out of the bottom of the tear-off strip for gripping the inside, coloured, preferably green start (9) to the tear-off strip. The closure flap (12) on the side overlapped by the tear-off strip has a notch (11) or slot.
