Abstract

The appts. consists of a casing contg. a tube, one end of which is connected to a breath inlet in the front panel, and the other end divides into two branches, one going to an air compressor and the other to a collecting chamber. An electronic cell in the inlet tube behind the front panel measures the alcohol contained in a soln. and the analogue reading is converted to a digital signal for display on a screen or to activate a voice synthesiser. A coin slot in the top of the casing accepts coins which disperse drinking straws for insertion in the inlet hole and activate the analyser.
