Abstract

Recovery of non-ferrous metal values from Pyrite cinders comprises: (a) previous reroasting of the Pyrite cinders (b) leaching reroasted Pyrite cinders followed by the recovery of Cu and Zn from the leaching liquor (c) washing the leached residue with water (d) preaeration of the leached and washed residue and (e) cyanidation of the preaerated residue for the recovery of gold and silver. The previous reroasting is carried out by: (a) combustion of the sulphides residues present in the cinders and (b) sulphation of oxides and ferrites present in the cinders.
