Abstract

A process which makes it possible to adjust or remove sodium hydroxide contained in crystalline sodium cyanide, to facilitate the handling and decantation thereof and to increase the apparent density thereof, which process consists of a carbonatation/neutralisation treatment of the hydroxide with carbon dioxide entrained by a carrier gas which is inert with respect to cyanide.
