Abstract
Method of desulfurating exhaust gases, for adsorbing sulfur oxides by a continuous contact in a tower between the gases containing said oxides and an aqueous treatment agent which contains slightly calcined magnesium oxide as desulfurating agent. A treatment system is provided outside the tower to subject the aqueous treatment agent to various reactions and separation of solids in order to improve the adsorption of the sulfur oxides, and prevent obstructions of the system due to encrustation. At the exit from the external system, the suspension no longer containing solids is returned to the tower as part of the aqueous treatment agent.
