Abstract
Procedure for the manufacture of compact articles by moulding, and base material for carrying it out. Formulation of a mixture of two compositions each made up of synthetic resins which can be polymerized with each other by contact, to which are added catalysts and pigments of metal oxides, with flour or impalpable powder made from nut shells, in ratios of 20 to 30% by weight of flour relative to the resin, mixing of equal parts of the two compositions when they are about to be poured into the mould with the shape to be reproduced, closing the latter and keeping it closed until polymerization is complete, and finally going on to the operations of machining and finishing. The material mainly comprises resins such as polyolpolyether, 4,4'- diisocyanatodiphenylmethane, resins of the polyvinyl alcohol type and the like. It is used for making coffins, cases for musical instruments, jugs, components used in furniture and building.
