Abstract

Method and device for creating low pressures in a closed container 1 on introducing a pressurized medium into an elastically deformable chamber 8 constructed in the container 1 and then eliminating the excess pressure from said chamber 8. The chamber 8 is made from an elastic material which expands by pressurising the medium introduced inside the container 1, preferably water, and/or extracting air through a valve 5 via the top of the container 1. When a sufficient quantity of the medium in the container 1 has been expelled via the valve 5, the latter is closed resulting in the excess pressure in the chamber 8 being eliminated for example via an inlet 6 in the wall which is connected to the apparatus which provides the aforesaid pressurised medium.
