Abstract

The invention relates to the in situ fabrication of ice balls and the projection of such ice balls against objects to be treated. The device comprises a water injector (2) having a great number of holes (4) to create a spectrum of droplets in the exchange column (6), supplied with cold gas and wherein the droplets start to solidify a receptacle (8) supporting the exchange column (6) comprising a ramp (12) to supply a coolant into a cone (10) for receiving the ice balls wherein they solidify completely, and an evacuation orifice (14) an extraction screw (16) a cold gas inlet (20) on top of such extraction screw (16) to push the balls towards a projection nozzle (26).
