Abstract

Appts. comprises a wind tunnel having an air inlet, and exit, a fan, a cyclone or filter dust collection system, a material feed inlet having an elongate outlet, and screw conveyor or chain or cable conveyor system. The wind tunnel further comprises a number of axially spaced material collectors extending transversely across the wind tunnel, and a number of airflow control damper blades positioned at the inlet. - Material partices fed into the airflow through the wind tunnel caused by the fan action at the outlet falls under the influence of gravity into one or the other of the axially spaced collectors, depending upon the specific gravity of the particle.
