Abstract

Zn (II) phytate, for treatment of exalocalcic renal lithiasis by preventing formation of kidney stones, is made by (a) reacting an aq. soln. of phytic acid with an aq. soln. of a zinc salt, keeping the pH at 1.5-3 by addn. of HCl (b) pptn. of zinc phytate by addn. of NH4OH and (c) filtering off the solid and drying.
