Abstract

The device 1 is provided with a flange 5 which can be fixed to the upper wall 3 of a tank and is of the type in which a float 8 is mounted so as to be slidable along a guide element 10 carrying a resistor 11 on which slides an electrical contact element 9, 12 carried by the float 8. The guide element 10 and the float 8 are enclosed within a cup-shape body 15 of plastics material having an end wall 16 and a side wall 17. The end wall 16 supports a lower end 22 of the guide element 10 and is provided with at least one through hole 19 to allow the liquid contained in the tank to flow over the float 8. The side wall 17 is substantially cylindrical and is connected in a slidable manner to the flange 5 of the device 1 by interposed resilient means 33 tending to separate the end wall 16 of the cup-shape body 15 from the said flange 5 towards the lower wall 4 of the tank.
