Process for the gasification of biomass residues characterized in that it comprises the following stages: 1) Collection and treatment of the residues, 2) Conditioning of the latter by various mechanical operations to achieve suitable size and moisture conditions, 3) Gasification of the said residues by thermal decomposition of the organic matter, 4) Heat exchange for the production of hot water, superheated water, steam, hot water and cold water, 5) Storage of the gas produced to sediment out any residues carried over and to dispose of them, 6) Combustion of the gas in a combustion motor specially designed for the generation of electrical power, 7) Marketing of the electricity and heat produced in the above stages. <IMAGE>
