Abstract

Maturing formed prods. contg. a mixt. of hard natural stone granules or ceramic material and a cement binder comprises wrapping each prod. before the maturing phase in an impermeable film material (I) which is able to retain the water which is in the prod. until the end of the maturing process. Also claimed is a multilayer film (I) for this application, contg. layer(s), of paper and a layer of plastic film. (I) is applied during or pref. before moulding. (I) consists of perforation-resistant plastic film, pref. comprising several layers, with at least one layer of plastic and layer of paper, pref. 3 layers of paper with 2 layers of plastic between applied with a paper layer next to the surface of the prod. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process prevents evapn. of water during the maturing phase of cement-contg. structural blocks, slabs etc. and this prevents cracking, buckling and distortion without using complicated and expensive palettes and maturing shelves.
