Abstract

The device consists of a flattened rectangular parallelepipedal element 1 subdivided into two parts 2 and 3 via a midplane in the direction of its greater dimension, over more than half of the latter. The outer faces 1 are provided with centred longitudinal grooves 4 and the inner faces with longitudinal parallel ribs 5. Surrounding 1 is a bridge piece 6 with projecting wings 7 and inner ribs 8 which slide inside the grooves 4. To close the opening of the container, it suffices to place the lips of the opening in the separation zone between 2 and 3. In this arrangement, it suffices to push the bridge piece 6 forwards by virtue of the projection 7 so that, when the bridge advances, guided by the interference between 4 and 8, it presses the opening until it is completely closed, avoiding any sliding of the new closure, through the existence of the ribs 5. The closure is applicable to containers of the Tetrapak (RTM) type which otherwise always remain open once one of their corners has been cut off.
