Abstract

The described blade unit consists of a blade (11) with at least one cutting edge (11.1) and of a guide/protection element (10) with at least one row of finger-shaped integral projections (10.1), the tips (10.2) of the integral projections of each row forming a line substantially corresponding, in its shape, to the line of the corresponding cutting edge (11.1). Guide/protection element (10) and blade (11) are fastened to one another in such a way that the tips (10.2) of the integral projections (10.1) extend beyond the corresponding cutting edge (11.1) of the blade (11), and that the cutting edge (11.1) bears on the flanks (10.3) of the integral projections (10.1). Preferably the guide/protection element (10) is composed of plastic or metal and the blade (11) is bonded, riveted or clamped to the guide/protection element (10). The blade (11) takes on the cutting function, and the integral projections (10.1) of the guide/protection element (10) on the one hand take on the function of guiding the skin during cutting into a position advantageous for the cutting, and on the other hand take on the function of preventing the cutting edge (11.1) of the blade (11) from being able to penetrate the skin, as a result of which the cutting edge cannot present a risk of injury whatever the manner of handling. <IMAGE>
