CARBON DIOXIDE IS CIRCULATED THROUGH THE DRUM, IN THE LIQUID OR "TRIPLE POINT" STATE, TO COOL THE PRODUCT IN CONTACT WITH IT. A BLANKET OF CARBONIC SNOW MAY BE APPLIED TO THE ENDLESS BAND TO INCREASE COOLING RATE. THERE ARE OTHER HEAT TRANSMISSION FLUIDS, SUCH AS D-LIMONENE, WHICH CAN BE CIRCULATED THROUGH THE DRUM.
