Abstract

Extensometric rachimeter used to measure the outside of a subject's back in dynamic and static conditions, such as flexion angles for different stunted sections in the sagittal plane. It analyses trunk flexion in different work conditions and is applicable for seated subjects even when there is contact between the back and the chair. It has a transducer made up of a steel hoop (1) that has multiple extensometric gauges running through the faces (2) connected at Wheatstone points by wiring (3) that runs parallel to the hoop (1). The assembly is covered in plastic (4) that is then wrapped in an elastic cover (8). The wiring (3) extends down connecting to an electronic device. The rachimeter is fixed at the bottom to an elastic belt (5) with elastic straps (6) that pass through the groin and does up in front of the belt (5). The upper part of the rachimeter is kept under tension by means of elastic braces (7) that connect at the desired height using clips. The rachimeter also fixes to the lumbar zone using an elastic girdle (9) making it useable in real time.
