Abstract
Device for the separation and concentration of volatile components of heat-sensitive samples by distillation and simultaneous extraction using organic solvents. This comprises a device through which volatile components in heat-sensitive samples are isolated and concentrated by simultaneous extraction and distillation. Through this, vapour phase extraction is encouraged and losses of very volatile compounds are minimized, unlike other devices suggested for the same purposes. It can be used to work at low pressure in order to obtain high level of recovery without strongly heating the sample and provides better recovery at atmospheric pressure than is obtained using commercial equipment. Furthermore, organic solvents of higher or lower density than water with a single configuration can be used without distinction.
