PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

Fig. 1 is an embodiment of the packaging (1) that constitutes the invention, which is shown in its open configuration. In this embodiment, the packaging is made from a sheet of plastic material molded to give it the shape of a tray (2), preferably rectangular. The tray has a peripheral rim (3), with a lower face and an upper face.

Preferably, the container (1) is manufactured with a single sheet, although multilayer embodiments are possible. In one embodiment, the plastic material from which the single sheet is obtained is polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

The packaging (1) as shown in Fig. 1 is ready to receive its contents at the production plant, usually food, especially fresh or cured, such as meat fillets, ham or sliced sausages.

Fig. 2 shows the container (1) halfway through its closing process. The container (1) has been subjected to a rolling process, such that the lower face of the perimeter rim (3) comes into contact with the upper face of said rim (3) and remains adhered to it. The closing process of the container (1) ends when substantially all of the lower face of the perimeter rim (3) has remained adhered to substantially all of the upper face of said rim (3), that is, when the container (1) has been substantially completely rolled onto itself.

Once the packaged product has been purchased, the consumer will open it by unrolling the packaging (1), after which he will have before him the product contained in the tray (2) ready for consumption without having to remove any plastic film, thus reducing the waste generated by his purchase.
