Definitions

  • the invention relates to a piece of computer workstation furniture with a work unit having a box-like body with at least one worktop, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the WO 2020/036416 A1 shows a computer workstation furniture with a multifunctional carrying box that can be used as a work table, which has a box-like body that can be placed on an associated frame part and comprises a type of worktop and a cover plate spaced parallel to it, on the underside of which a screen is arranged.
  • the CN 104 840 003 A also shows a multifunctional table with a box-like body and a frame part, whereby the body has a kind of worktop and a cover plate spaced parallel to it and can be used with the frame part as a computer table.
  • the CN 111 728 349 A shows a height-adjustable compact work table with a height-adjustable frame section, a rectangular column and a type of A-foot.
  • the CN 201 019 253 Y shows a work table with a box-like body, which has a lower worktop and a top plate spaced upwards from it with a screen attached to the underside.
  • the workstation formed by the furniture is mobile and designed as a foldable workstation and comprises a storage container and a body that encloses this when folded, with a side panel that is hingedly connected to an upper panel and can be folded up, which, when unfolded, forms the work surface together with the upper panel.
  • the container is hingedly connected to a rear transverse side of the body that encloses it and can be rotated horizontally about a vertical axis, so that when rotated out, it forms a support for the work surface. It is conceivable to use this workstation as a screen workstation by positioning a workstation computer on the work surface.
  • increased demands must also be placed on a stable and user-friendly structure in order to meet the ergonomic requirements of the person working at the screen workstation as well as possible.
  • the DE 20 2005 005 586 U1 shows a computer workstation furniture with a box-like work unit, in whose cover plate an opening is made, covered by a pivoting table flap, from which a screen can be pivoted out into a working position when the table flap is pivoted open.
  • the screen which is arranged completely inside the table below the tabletop when folded in, is mounted on the floor of the equipment box by means of a folding hinge. Also mounted on the floor of the equipment box is a pull-out sliding panel serving as a drawer for a PC keyboard.
  • a computer workstation with this type of table structure requires various manual preparation measures to set up the work function and also requires a relatively large amount of installation space and can be unsuitable for home working or occasional use in the office, for example.
  • Another piece of computer workstation furniture is in the DE 101 53 492 A1 shown.
  • This is designed as a student desk with an integrated flat screen.
  • the flat screen is arranged so that it can be moved between a storage position below the worktop and a working position above the worktop.
  • the screen can be swung out of a recess in the desk top.
  • the recess is closed by a separate cover plate when the screen is not in use.
  • the robustly constructed table with the support structure is designed to suit the relatively generous space available in a classroom. For occasional use in less generous space available, such a design can be disadvantageous.
  • the DE 10 2008 037 285 A1 and the DE 100 25 338 A1 Show tables with a tabletop pivoting on a table frame and a base unit with casters. Although a screen with a control unit can be positioned on the tabletop, switching between a parked position and a working position requires a relatively cumbersome repositioning of the individual components.
  • the present invention is based on the object of providing a piece of computer workstation furniture of the type mentioned at the outset, which not only can be stored in a space-saving manner when not in use, but can also be converted into working mode in a few simple steps and meets the increased ergonomic requirements of a computer workstation.
  • the work unit is tiltably mounted on a frame part with at least one column by means of a tilting mechanism from a space-saving parking position into a working position, which is mounted on a foot unit and supported above it towards the floor, and in that the work unit is provided with an upper cover plate which is spaced upwards from the worktop and which, in the working position of the work unit, can be brought from a closed position into a hinged position and on whose underside, which is turned downwards in its closed position, a screen can be arranged or is arranged, the viewing surface of which, in the hinged position, faces the field of vision of the person working at the workstation.
  • the screen workstation furniture according to the invention also consists in that the body of the work unit, which in particular has an imaginary essentially cuboid-shaped outer contour, has two side walls aligned parallel to one another in a vertical and depth-direction running y-z plane, which side walls delimit the cover plate and the worktop, wherein the cover plate with its upper side (in the closed position) ends with the upper edge of the side walls or rests on them and that the body is at least partially closed off by rear wall elements in its rear section facing away from a working person.
  • good storage and accommodation options for accessories and work utensils are achieved by arranging at least one compartment open to the rear in the rear section, which is at least partially enclosed by a rear wall element offset from the front and aligned parallel to the rear in an xz plane.
  • the VDU workstation furniture can be brought into a space-saving parking position outside of usage hours by simply tilting the work unit around a horizontal axis using the tilt mechanism. When needed, it can be swiveled into the working position in just a few simple steps using the tilt mechanism. The cover plate can then be folded up to bring the screen arranged on it, integrated into it, or mounted in or on it into a visible position and at the same time expose the worktop with its upper work surface.
  • the VDU workstation furniture thus offers a space-saving, multi-stationary workstation that meets the ergonomic requirements of a home office and also in the office and can be converted in just a few simple steps.
  • the tilt mechanism is advantageously connected to the work unit at the center of gravity or close to the center of gravity. In particular, ergonomic requirements for longer periods of work at a VDU workstation require the ability to position a keyboard independently of the display device or screen.
  • the measures that contribute to advantageous operation with little effort and short set-up time for the user as well as user-friendly use during screen work are that the work unit is aligned in the parked position with the worktop at an angle of more than 45 degrees to the horizontal, in particular substantially vertically, and in the working position is aligned substantially horizontally or inclined by less than 45 degrees to the horizontal towards the person working and is fixed by means of a locking mechanism, in particular clamped or engaged and/or locked.
  • the work unit is height-adjustable, with a height adjustment mechanism being at least partially integrated into the frame part, in particular into the at least one column, the person working at the workstation is enabled to work ergonomically in both a sitting and a standing position.
  • the height adjustment mechanism is designed to work purely mechanically with spring force or at least partially has pneumatically or electrically operated components.
  • the worktop is installed in the body parallel to the surface of the cover plate with regard to the closed position of the cover plate.
  • the measures are also advantageous that the cover plate can be folded up by more than 90 degrees relative to the horizontal by means of a folding mechanism around a pivot bearing and is held, in particular clamped or latched and/or locked, in at least one folded-up position exceeding 90 degrees by means of a releasable locking mechanism.
  • the tilting mechanism and/or the folding mechanism is/are provided with a damping device by means of which a tilting movement of the working unit into its parking position or a folding movement of the cover plate into its closed position is/are braked.
  • the tilting mechanism and/or the folding mechanism is/are provided with a force application device by means of which a tilting movement of the working unit from its parking position into the working position or a folding movement of the cover plate from its closed position into the unfolded position is/are supported.
  • the foot unit has castors that are at least partially lockable.
  • a further advantageous embodiment for the user consists in that the working unit is provided with at least one additional component, in particular an electrical energy supply component or a data transmission component or data processing component.
  • Fig. 1 shows a piece of workplace furniture 1 according to the invention in working position (working mode) from an oblique front view, wherein a work unit 2 with a worktop 21 is brought into a (geodetically or with respect to the direction of gravity) horizontal position (xz-plane) and a screen 5 arranged on the underside of a folded-up cover plate 20 is facing the field of vision of a person or user (imaginary, not shown) working at the screen workstation.
  • the work unit 2 is mounted on a frame part 10 with a column 3 and a tilting mechanism 8 so that it can be tilted, in particular by 90 degrees, so that it can be brought into a space-saving parking position B (as in Fig. 3 shown).
  • the frame part 10 with the column 3 is mounted on a base unit 4, which has a base frame 40 and is supported on the floor by means of rollers 41 (or rollers).
  • the cover plate 20 is connected in an articulated manner to the body of the work unit 7 by means of a folding mechanism 7 in the rear area (facing away from the person working at the workplace) and can be moved from a closed position C (cf. Fig. 4c )), in which it is particularly parallel to the plane of the worktop 21 and the screen 5 is turned downwards, in the Fig. 1 shown folding position D for working at the prepared screen workstation.
  • the body of the work unit 2 has, on each side of the worktop 21, side walls (left side wall 23' and right side wall 23") that delimit the worktop 21, which are oriented in the vertical depth direction (yz plane) and project upwards and downwards over the upper and lower levels of the worktop 21, respectively, and preferably terminate at the front with the front edge of the worktop 21.
  • a base plate 223 is arranged parallel to the worktop 21, which extends between the lower edge of the two side walls 23', 23". As Fig. 2 shows, this results in a rear compartment 220 in the rear area of the work unit 2 or the body thereof. This is closed off at the front by means of a front rear wall element 221 which is offset from the rear of the body to the front up to the front edge of the base plate 223 and can be used to accommodate utensils useful for workplace use.
  • the rear of the body in the area between the rear edge of the worktop 21 and the cover plate 20 is closed off with a rear rear wall element 222, whereby the working area on the worktop 21 is advantageously limited to the rear and, when the cover plate 20 is folded into its closed position C, a compartment is formed between the cover plate 20 and the worktop 21, in which, for example, a keyboard and/or mouse or the like can be protected.
  • the body of the work unit 2 constructed in this way forms a substantially cuboid-shaped body (assuming the lower front edge is folded in) when the cover plate 20 is folded in.
  • Various components or connection elements for such components that are useful or necessary for screen work such as plug-in connectors for electrical connections or data lines, charging stations, and/or a docking station, can be integrated into the body of the work unit 2.
  • control elements for handling the screen workstation furniture 1 can be arranged, such as a control element 6 on a side wall 23', 23", which can serve, for example, as a handle for maneuvering or converting the screen workstation furniture 1 or as a cable receptacle.
  • a height adjustment mechanism for different working heights, in particular for a sitting or standing activity, is advantageously integrated into the frame part 10, in particular into the column 3, which can be constructed from several column parts, such as an upper and lower column part (cf. Fig. 4b )).
  • the foot unit 4 has a stable foot frame 40 constructed from a small number of struts.
  • the frame is advantageously essentially A-shaped, with two lateral struts running diagonally backward toward each other in the depth direction and a transverse support strut connecting these approximately in the middle, to which the column 3 is attached at its lower end.
  • the casters 41 are mounted in the front and rear end areas of the lateral struts of the foot frame 40, of which the two front casters in particular are provided with locking elements.
  • This construction of the foot unit 4 contributes to a space-saving arrangement and also provides a stable stand, which also benefits the legroom of the person working at the workplace.
  • the tilting mechanism 8 and/or the folding mechanism 7 are preferably provided with force application elements, such as mechanical or pneumatic spring elements, and/or with damping elements.
  • the workplace furniture 1 according to the invention has, for example, the following further advantageous design features.
  • the body of the work unit 2 has a rectangular worktop 21 approximately 800 mm (along the front) wide and approximately 600 mm (from front to back) deep and is enclosed by an approximately 100 mm high border to the right, rear and left of the work surface, which is formed, for example, by the aforementioned right and left side walls 23', 23" and the rear wall element 222.
  • These dimensions contribute to the small They take space requirements into account and also result in a beneficial distance from the screen surface of at least 50 cm and no more than 70 cm.
  • a notebook can also be comfortably accommodated on the work surface, fitting under the display surface or display, so that a keyboard and mouse can be used unhindered for continuous work.
  • the keyboard in turn, can advantageously be moved 5 to 10 cm inwards or backwards from the front edge of the table or worktop. These dimensions therefore also meet a minimum recommendation for workstations according to the specifications for ergonomic VDU workstations.
  • the height of the border and the associated housing of the work unit 2 is selected so that it results in a compact design with a small form factor in the parked position or in parked mode. There is sufficient space for the screen and, if necessary, also a screen holder unit, by means of which it is installed on the cover plate 20.
  • the border of the worktop 21 is not so high that it shades the work area.
  • the workplace furniture 1 may, in contrast to this exemplary embodiment, have dimensions in the width, depth and/or height of the border that deviate, for example, by up to 10% or 20% downwards or, for example, by up to 20% or 50% upwards.
  • the folding mechanism 7, by means of which the cover plate 20 is connected to the body, has a pivot bearing with a folding joint.
  • at least one correspondingly designed hinged flap fitting is installed inside the body, which supports the lifting of the cover plate 20 into the opened position D by means of spring force. These flap fittings straighten the cover plate 20 from a certain angle up to a maximum angle of slightly over 90 degrees.
  • the closing of the cover plate 20 is supported by a damper integrated into the folding mechanism 7.
  • the folding mechanism 7 designed in this way with the flap fitting also ensures that the cover plate 20 in the parked position B retains the cover plate 20 in its closed position C. and does not rattle, clatter or pose a potential risk of entrapment, for example during lateral acceleration during parking.
  • the cover plate 20 is congruent with the housing of the body and, in the closed position C, is flush with the front edge of the worktop 21 or its work surface. This not only protects the display but also prevents gaps and sources of danger.
  • the lateral edges of the cover plate 20 can be positioned at a minimal distance from the inner sides of the side walls 23', 23" and rest on a stop, or they can be flush with the outer sides of the side walls 23', 23" and rest on the upper edge of the side walls 23', 23".
  • the cover plate 20 runs parallel to the worktop 21 or its work surface and moves synchronously when the body is tilted. Opening the cover plate 20 into the folded-out position D is only permitted after the work unit 1 or the body has been completely moved into the working position A.
  • the folding mechanism 7 can be designed to interact with the tilting mechanism 8 or an unlocking mechanism dependent on the tilting position, or an interaction with a locking mechanism that fixes the work unit 2 in its working position A is established. Accordingly, the cover plate 20 must also be closed before the locking mechanism is released.
  • a safety mechanism that performs this function is advantageously provided.
  • a prerequisite for folding and closing the cover plate 20 is always the lowest possible position of the height adjustment of the work unit 2, for which purpose a correspondingly designed functional mechanism is also advantageously provided.
  • the compartment 220 in the rear wall assembly 22 of the work unit 2, which is bounded at the front by the front rear wall element 221, can be designed, for example, to accommodate a keyboard.
  • the dimensions of the compartment take into account that a person sitting at the workstation does not hit their knee against the compartment's boundary wall.
  • At least one additional, shallower compartment, for example, for a mouse, can be provided in the rear wall.
  • the compartments are oriented upwards in the parked position B (since the rear is facing upwards in the parked position).
  • the VDU workstation furniture 1 is further provided with a power supply for connection to the mains (in particular 240 V).
  • a holding device is provided, for example in conjunction with the control unit 6, or a winder.
  • the display or screen 5 is not attached directly to the cover plate 20, but rather a screen holding unit (not shown in detail in the figures) is used for mounting. This is designed in particular such that the screen 5 can be pivoted relative to the cover plate 20, preferably about a pivot axis parallel to the front edge of the worktop 21, and can be locked at a desired pivot angle or angle of inclination.
  • the mount of the screen holding unit consists of a mounting bracket, which is either factory-mounted on the underside or in a recess of the cover plate 20, or subsequently purchased and mounted by the user.
  • the second part consists, for example, of a commercially available mounting component (e.g., VESA 100 mount), which is screwed to a display that has been removed from a stand.
  • the display thus equipped with the mounting component, is inserted into the mounting bracket and secured with at least one locking screw.
  • the angle of inclination of the screen 5 can then be selected and adjusted as desired, for example, using adjusting screws.
  • a 24" or a 27" display can be attached to the cover plate 20 with the screen holding unit, which is matched to the dimensions of the enclosure.
  • a display or notebook that corresponds to the desired function of the A suitable display or notebook can be used for the workstation.
  • the user can select suitable components to operate the display or notebook, or the relevant data processing unit with the screen 5 comprising the visual display, as long as they conform to a standard geometry. Wireless or non-wired components are particularly preferred.
  • a desktop PC can be used, e.g., attached to the underside of the body using a mounting kit, or a so-called "all-in-one" PC system can be used.
  • the working unit 2 is tilted into the parking position B with the height adjustment set to the minimum height, for which purpose, as shown in Fig. 3 is tilted forward so that the working unit 2 is positioned in front of the column 3.
  • the compartments are then in the upper area and are freely accessible from above.
  • Fig. 5 shows a schematic representation in partial images a), b) and c) of an embodiment of the tilting mechanism 8, wherein only in partial image b) the underside of the working unit 2 is indicated and shown in three different positions, namely the parking position B, the working position A and a 45 degree inclined position.
  • the tilting mechanism 8 between the frame part 10 and the work unit 2 has, for example, a hinge plate 80 firmly connected to the column 3. This is fastened, for example, with four countersunk screws (e.g., M10 screws), to the upper end face of the column 3, preferably horizontally.
  • the hinge plate 80 has two holes 802 (e.g., with a diameter of approximately 8 mm) arranged on vertical tabs, which receive hinge pins 810 of a tilting connector plate 81 attached to the underside of the body and thus form the axis of rotation (x-direction) of the body or work unit 2, respectively, running parallel to the front or rear.
  • the joint plate 80 ensures the stabilization of the working position A by means of a support surface that is as large as possible within the scope of the space available. or the body positioned horizontally in the working mode, in particular in the x and z axes.
  • the hinge plate 80 also provides the receptacle on the rear for a spring-loaded locking pin 820 of a locking mechanism 82, with which the body is secured against unintentional tipping into the parking position B.
  • the spring-loaded locking pin 820 is tensioned when the worktop 21 is transferred into the working position A.
  • the hinge plate 80 can press the locking pin 820 into the locking bore 801 in the hinge plate 80 by means of the spring preload, thus effecting the locking. If the user wants to return the body to the parking position B, he can manually move or tension the locking pin 820 against the spring force until it stops and thus pull the locking pin 820 out of the locking hole 801 and release the locking.
  • the distance d of the body in the tilted parking position B to the column 3 is also defined. This distance is adjusted so that the body does not hang down at an angle exceeding 90 degrees, but is held in a stable position at approximately 90 degrees by a lever and rotation force caused by gravity.
  • the tilting mechanism 8 is designed so that the body does not touch the column 3, so that in the event of any incorrect triggering of the height adjustment in parking mode, the front edge of the body or the column 3 at the transitions between the column parts 30, 31 is/are not damaged.
  • the hinge plate 80 of the tilting mechanism 8 can be provided with recesses, preferably at the corners, in order to guide, for example, a Bowden cable of a gas pressure spring for height adjustment or a cable of an electric height adjustment unhindered to a hand control unit.
  • the tilt connector plate 81 which interacts with the hinge plate 80 and is designed, for example, as a U-shaped stainless steel sheet construction, is attached to the underside of the cabinet, for example, to the underside of the worktop 21.
  • a support with the largest possible surface area is also selected, taking into account the available space.
  • another shape can also be selected to achieve the highest possible rigidity.
  • the tilt connector plate 81 is screwed to the cabinet via several drill holes. In the rear area of the cabinet are holes for attaching the locking mechanism 82, which interacts with the tilt mechanism 8.
  • the task of the locking mechanism 82 is to automatically lock the body or the work unit 2 in a horizontal orientation in the working position A without any user intervention.
  • the locking pin 820 is gradually pressed in, e.g., by a 90-degree bend in the hinge plate 80, until it reaches the corresponding locking bore 801.
  • the body is locked in the horizontal position after the locking pin 820 has been engaged.
  • a guide surface rounding, deflection bevel or cone or the like
  • a stamp for releasing the lock is located on the rear underside of the body. This position was deliberately chosen to prevent accidental unlocking during use. If the locking pin 820 is pulled out with the stamp, the body is unlocked and can then be tilted downwards by 90 degrees. The stamp is accessible in the rear area between the two storage compartments for utensils and peripherals. The stamp is connected to the Locking bolt 820 directly connected or coupled to it via at least one intermediate link.
  • Column 3 consists of, for example, two or preferably three telescopically interlocking column sections 30, 31 or segments. These preferably have a square cross-section of, for example, 70 x 70 mm. The segments are stabilized by an internal roller system and optimized against wobbling and/or torsion.
  • the square column system offers advantageously high rigidity for the present VDU workstation furniture 1.
  • a gas pressure spring operates, the strength of which is defined for this requirement. This is triggered and stopped via a lever mechanism guided by a Bowden cable.
  • the lever mechanism is mounted in the front area on the underside of the body, easily accessible for the user. Instead of the gas pressure spring, an electric height adjustment with a handheld control unit can also be provided.
  • Column 3 can be continuously adjusted via an adapted lifting range, from a low seat height for short users with approximately 60 mm ground clearance, to a medium seat height of, for example, 75 mm for users of normal height, to a standing height of, for example, 120 cm for tall users. Only the lowest height setting is permitted for the parking position or for moving the VDU workstation furniture 1 and for converting it to the working position A. In working mode, the user can freely choose between the minimum and maximum height settings.
  • the foot unit 4 with the foot frame 40, on which the column 3 is mounted at its lower end, is angled and, as described above, essentially A-shaped, to provide the greatest possible stability against tipping while taking up the least amount of space.
  • the lateral struts are extended forward to ensure that the operator can also support themselves on the front edge of the body or work unit 2 during work.
  • Square tubes were also used here.
  • the depth of the foot unit is preferably limited to 700 mm in order to enable mobility between rooms with narrow doorways (e.g. 70 cm).
  • the axis of rotation running in the z-direction is advantageously arranged such that it runs close to the extended plumb line through the center of gravity of the VDU workstation furniture 1. This facilitates easy tipping from the parking position B to the working position A and vice versa.
  • the two lateral struts of the foot unit 4, which run diagonally backwards in the depth direction, are stably connected to one another via the cross strut which runs approximately centrally in the depth direction and to which the column 3 is firmly attached by means of several, e.g. four, screws.
  • the casters 41 are advantageously rubberized to provide grip even on smooth floors.
  • the two front of the four casters are equipped with a locking mechanism that can be moved into the blocking position using a lever to position the VDU workstation furniture 1 stationary at a desired installation location.
  • the casters can rotate freely 360 degrees around a vertical axis to allow good steerability and precision when maneuvering the VDU workstation furniture 1 into a parking position or moving it to an installation location.
  • the computer workstation furniture 1 provides a user-friendly, height-adjustable mobile workstation that meets high ergonomic requirements for multi-stationary use in various areas, such as working from home, in the office or as a supplementary workstation at third-party locations.
