Description
- The present invention relates to a supporting beam for a formwork panel.
- Until now, in the provision of floor slabs, supporting props are rested on the floor with, at the ends, supporting heads for beams for supporting formwork panels to be arranged side by side in a coplanar manner.
- In the industry, supporting beams are widespread which comprise a longitudinally extended profiled element with two vertical parallel faces with respect to the installation position and two transverse portions, one of which is an upper portion designed to support a formwork panel, the other one being a lower portion with slot-like openings. A pair of parallel plate-like elements, between which a transverse rod is provided, is fixed with rivets, to the parallel faces. Moreover, a plate-like element is welded in front of the ends.
- The supporting heads to be used with such beams can be of the falling head type, which are adapted to be removed from below after the concrete casting, or of the fixed type.
- According to some falling head solutions, the head comprises two plates which are arranged mirror-symmetrically and laterally adjacent to opposite sides of a post which is fixed to the upper end of the prop. The plates have recesses for the resting of the ends of the beams. A same falling head of this type constitutes the resting element for the ends of two contiguous supporting beams, arranged opposite to the post.
- The beam end rests on the head by means of the transverse rod to be positioned so that it rests in the recesses of the plates and by means of the plate-like element, to be rested laterally to the post installed on the prop.
- Two contiguous supporting beams which rest on opposite sides of a same post face each other with a space between them equal to at least the thickness of the post. The spacing produces an empty space between two contiguous panels mounted on top of said beams, which typically is filled by means of a filling element, on top of the post, which is adapted to prevent the falling of concrete during casting.
- The fixed supporting heads have a resting part for the beam with upward protrusions, which are sometimes contoured and are adapted to be inserted in the slots provided in the lower part of the beam. The fixed supporting heads can be used for resting a single supporting beam, proximate to the end thereof or in an intermediate region, close to a similar contiguous beam in order to position contiguous panels which are mutually in contact in an upper region.
- The beams of the described type, therefore, are not free from drawbacks, such as the fact that they cannot be mounted with the ends resting on supporting heads of the fixed type. In this case, in fact, the plate-like elements present at the ends of two contiguous beams would prevent their approach, causing a spacing also between the formwork panels, which in this case cannot be filled by means of a filling element, due to the absence of the post.
-
- The aim of the present invention is to provide a supporting beam for a formwork panel that is capable of improving the background art in one or more of the aspects mentioned above.
- Within this aim, an object of the invention is to provide a supporting beam that can be arranged so that the ends rest on supporting heads of the falling type and also of the fixed type, in this last case ensuring the positioning of contiguous panels mutually in contact so that the concrete being cast cannot fall between them.
- A further object of the present invention is to overcome the drawbacks of the background art in a manner that is alternative to any existing solutions.
- Another object of the invention is to provide a beam that is highly reliable, relatively easy to provide and at competitive costs.
- This aim and these and other objects which will become better apparent hereinafter are achieved by a supporting beam for a formwork panel, as defined in claim 1.
- Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become better apparent from the description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment of the supporting beam according to the invention, illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings, wherein:
-
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the beam according to the invention; -
Figure 2 is another perspective and partially exploded view of the beam according to the invention; -
Figure 3 is an enlarged-scale view of the beam according to the invention; -
Figure 4 is a view of an application of the beam according to the invention; -
Figure 5 is a view of another application of the beam according to the invention. - With reference to the figures, the beam according to the invention, generally designated by the
reference numeral 10, comprises a longitudinally extendedprofiled element 11 and a removable plate-like element 12 is provided in front of at least one end of the profiledelement 11. - The plate-
like element 12 is fixed to the rest of thebeam 10 preferably by virtue offixing means 13, which comprise at least onescrew 14 or preferably two as in the case shown. Thescrews 14 pass through the plate-like element 12 at adapted throughholes 15 provided on said element. The mentioned components and elements are rendered clearly visible in the enlarged-scale view ofFigure 3 . - The profiled
element 11 has a pair ofparallel faces 16, which are vertical with respect to the installation position of thebeam 10, between which aperforated element 17 is provided, which is integral with the profiledelement 11 and in which thescrews 14 can be tightened. - The profiled
element 11 is substantially formed by the twoparallel faces 16, by a firsttransverse portion 18a, designed for the resting of a formwork panel 19 (as shown inFigure 4 and Figure 5 ), and by a second lowertransverse portion 18b with slots (not visible in the figures shown). - The plate-
like element 12 has, on the part for fixing to theperforated element 17, aprotrusion 20 suitable to enter an adaptedcorresponding seat 21 of the firsttransverse portion 18a. - Moreover, by observing
Figure 3 one notices that thebeam 10 comprises a pair of plate-like elements 22 which are parallel on a vertical plane, with respect to the installation position ofsaid beam 10, and protrude at the ends of the profiledelement 11 from the twoparallel faces 16 with which they are rendered integral by means ofrivets 23 and in a per se known manner. - The two plate-
like elements 22 are part of a single element which is bent into an inverted U-shape and is positioned between the twoparallel faces 16 and to which theperforated element 17 is welded. - Between each pair of plate-like and
parallel elements 22 there is also atransverse rod 24, designed to rest on recesses provided on the supportingheads 25 and 26 shown in the followingFigures 4 and 5 . - In particular,
Figure 5 shows the use of abeam 10 according to the invention with the use of a supportinghead 25 of the falling type, installed on top of aprop 27 with apost 28, fixed to the upper end of saidprop 27. - The falling
head 25, of a per se known type, comprises a pair ofplates 29 which are arranged mirror-symmetrically and are laterally adjacent to opposite sides of thepost 28. Theplates 29 have recesses for the resting of the ends of thebeams 10, particularly of therod 24. A same fallinghead 25 allows the end resting of twocontiguous beams 10, arranged on opposite sides with respect to thepost 28. The installation of thebeams 10 on the fallinghead 25 occurs in a per se known manner: thebeams 10 are arranged so that therods 24 rest in the recesses of theplates 29 and so that the plate-like elements 12 rest on opposite sides of thepost 28. The presence of thepost 28 and of the twoelements 12, at the respective ends of the twobeams 10, produces a significant spacing of the profiledelements 11 of thebeams 10 and consequently the spacing of theoverlying panels 19. As shown, the space between thepanels 19 is filled with an adaptedfilling element 30 in order to prevent the fall of concrete during casting or in any case until curing has occurred. - Advantageously, as shown in
Figure 5 , the plate-like element 12 has been removed from the twobeams 10 shown, which rest, at their ends, on a supporting head 26 of the fixed type. The head 26, also of a known type, hasprojections 31 which extend upward from the corners of an imaginary square and are shaped so as to form recesses in which the twocontiguous beams 10 rest with therespective rods 24. - In this case, with respect to the preceding one, due to the absence of the post and of the two plate-like elements the two
beams 10 according to the invention are closer to each other, allowing the placement thereon ofpanels 19 which are contiguous and in mutual contact, so as to prevent the concrete from falling between them during casting. - The use of the beam, according to the invention, is evident from what has been described and illustrated and in particular it is evident that the beam can be used usually with heads of the falling type, maintaining the fixing of the plate-like element, and also with heads of the fixed type, simply by removing the plate-like element.
- In practice it has been found that the invention achieves the intended aim and objects, providing a supporting beam for formwork panels that can be positioned with the ends resting on supporting heads both of the falling type and of the fixed type, in this last case also ensuring the positioning of contiguous panels mutually in contact.
- The invention thus conceived is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, as long as they fall within the scope of the appended claims; all the details may furthermore be replaced with other technically equivalent elements.
- In practice, the materials used, so long as they are compatible with the specific use, as well as the contingent shapes and dimensions, may be any according to the requirements and the state of the art.
- Where technical features mentioned in any claim are followed by reference signs, those reference signs have been included for the sole purpose of increasing the intelligibility of the claims and accordingly such reference signs do not have any limiting effect on the interpretation of each element identified by way of example by such reference signs.
