Definitions
- the present invention relates to a terminal air treatment unit for a building.
- a ventilation network is generally installed which makes it possible to bring in and/or extract air from different locations in the building, each equipped with a terminal air treatment unit.
- Each terminal unit comprises a plenum inside which the air circulates and is distributed between a duct of the ventilation network, opening into the plenum, and a diffuser through which the air passes, being blown into the interior of the building when the ventilation network is at excess pressure or by being taken from inside the building when the ventilation network is at depression.
- the diffuser is fixed to the plenum, being arranged across a corresponding opening in the plenum, and the plenum integrates a tube around which the duct of the ventilation network is attached and fixed.
- the diffuser and the plenum are traditionally made as rigid parts, although in the past alternatives have been proposed.
- the diffuser is often made of a steel or aluminum plate, which gives the diffuser good air diffusion characteristics, as well as a popular aesthetic.
- the plenum is often made up of a metal box, having the shape of a parallelepiped or a truncated pyramid. This metal box, which is generally arranged in a false ceiling, is appreciated for its fire resistance, its ability to be quickly assembled to the diffuser, and its possibility of being placed in either negative pressure or positive pressure internally.
- a metal box has drawbacks.
- the box due to its rigid structure, the box takes up space during transport and storage and can make it unusable if the false ceiling is cluttered or too small.
- the weight of the box makes it tedious to pause it at height, in particular its arrangement in the false ceiling and/or its hanging from a ceiling.
- WO01/04547A1 discloses an air distribution duct made up of four panels and which is shaped into a portion of tube, which cannot be integrated into the plane of a false ceiling. This conduit is directly connected to an air supply manifold, without the use of a plenum enclosure.
- EP0175892A1 discloses another air distribution duct consisting of a deformable upper part and a concavity gutter facing upwards, which cannot be integrated into the plan of a false ceiling.
- WO2020/096966A1 discloses, for its part, an air diffusion device which comprises a circumferential panel and a lower fabric panel, without using a rigid plate.
- WO2020/252365A1 discloses a nozzle designed to be attached laterally to a ventilation duct, made of a fabric tube and which can be equipped with a conical end piece, again without using a rigid plate. These materials are not practical to implement and are difficult to integrate into a plenum.
- the aim of the present invention is to propose a new terminal air treatment unit, which, while being efficient and adapted to market expectations, is more practical.
- the invention relates to a terminal air treatment unit for a building.
- the terminal unit comprises a rigid diffuser and a flexible plenum, as well as assembly means which securely assemble the diffuser and the plenum to one another.
- the diffuser comprises a plate which (i) is made of a first material, (ii) has two flat faces, opposite each other, namely an interior face, which is turned towards the plenum, and a face exterior, (iii) is adapted to extend continuously in a plane formed by a false ceiling when the terminal unit is installed in a free volume separating a ceiling (4) and said false ceiling, and (iv) is perforated by air deflection passages which connect the interior and exterior faces to each other.
- the plenum comprises an envelope which (i) defines an air distribution volume, (ii) is made of a second material, which is more flexible than the first material and which is deformable by hand so as to be able to pass the envelope reversibly between an deployed configuration and a contracted configuration, the air distribution volume being greater when the envelope is in the deployed configuration than when the envelope is in the contracted configuration, (iii) includes a main body which closes the air distribution volume except at at least two through openings of the main body, namely a first opening, which is covered by the inner face of the plate, and a second opening, and (iv) also includes a sleeve which extends in length from the main body outside the air distribution volume between two opposite longitudinal ends of the sleeve, namely a first end, which is fitted to the second opening, and a second end, which is suitable for connection to a ventilation duct.
- the invention provides that an envelope of the plenum, which defines the internal volume of the plenum in which the air circulates and is distributed between the diffuser and a ventilation duct, is made of a material, which is flexible compared to the material rigid in which an air diffusion plate belonging to the diffuser is produced, and which is deformable by hand to allow the envelope to be passed reversibly between respectively deployed and contracted configurations.
- the air diffusion plate facilitates the integration of the terminal unit into a false ceiling when the terminal unit.
- the envelope When the terminal air treatment unit according to the invention is in service, the envelope is in deployed configuration and internally ensures a usual air distribution, it being understood that the material of the plenum envelope has a level airtightness, which is suitable.
- the diffuser of this terminal unit is, advantageously in a reversible manner, fixedly assembled to the flexible plenum, by covering an opening of a main body of the envelope of the plenum, while another opening of this main body opens into a sleeve of the envelope, which extends from the main body outside the aforementioned internal volume and which can be connected to the ventilation duct in an easy and reliable manner, as detailed below.
- the envelope of the plenum makes it particularly easy to install at height, due to the intrinsic flexibility and lightness of this envelope, particularly compared to a metal box as mentioned above. Likewise, due to its flexibility, the plenum envelope attenuates noise coming from the ventilation duct, particularly compared to a metal box as mentioned above.
- the plenum envelope can be stored and transported in a contracted configuration, which is particularly practical and economical.
- the flexible and deformable material constituting the envelope of the plenum is advantageously made, partly or entirely, of a textile material and/or of a material other than a textile material.
- this flexible and deformable material is advantageously provided with additional functionalities, for example being washable and/or non-flammable and/or air purifying, in particular being antibacterial, antifungal, virucidal and/ or depollutant.
- the terminal air treatment unit according to the invention can advantageously be used both to blow air inside a building, by increasing the pressure inside the envelope. of its plenum which thus tends to be maintained in deployed configuration by its internal overpressure, only to ensure the return of air from the interior of a building, by means of the depression of the interior of the envelope of its plenum and the use of ad hoc means to maintain the shape of the envelope in the deployed configuration, such means being detailed subsequently.
- the flexible plenum of the terminal air treatment unit according to the invention advantageously has the same advantages as a metal box as mentioned above, without suffering from the disadvantages linked to its rigidity and its weight. .
- a terminal air treatment unit 1 for a building 2 This terminal unit 1 makes it possible to treat, in particular to renew, the air of the building 2 and for this purpose belongs to a ventilation network, which brings or extracts air with respect to the interior of the building 2 and whose air exchanges with the interior of a room 3 of the building 2 are carried out at the level of the terminal unit 1, arranged in this room 3, typically on ceiling 4 of the latter.
- the nature of building 2 is not restrictive, this building can be both a dwelling and a tertiary building, that is to say a building which receives the public and/or which is the place of tertiary activities.
- the terminal unit 1 comprises two main components which are a diffuser 10 and a plenum 20.
- the diffuser 10 is rigid compared to the plenum 20, the latter can thus be described as flexible compared to the diffuser 10.
- the diffuser 10 and the plenum 20 are fixedly assembled l 'to each other by assembly means 30, more specifically visible on the Figure 3 .
- assembly means 30, which will be detailed later, are advantageously reversible in the sense that they allow the diffuser 10 and the plenum 20 to be detached and reattached at will.
- the diffuser 10 comprises a plate 11 which can be described as rigid in the sense that the material constituting the plate 11 is rigid, freezing the geometric shape of the plate 11, without the possibility of altering this shape other than by damaging the plate 11.
- the material constituting the plate 11 comprises or consists of a metallic material, such as steel or aluminum, and/or a plastic material, such as rigid PVC.
- the plate 11 is perforated by through passages 14 which connect the interior 12 and exterior 13 faces to each other. These through passages 14 allow the air to pass through the plate 11, being deflected so as to to better distribute the air thus diffused.
- the air passes through the plate 11 from the interior face 12 to the exterior face 13 via the through passages 14 which deflect the air flows circulating there so as to distribute the corresponding air intake throughout substantially the entire room 3; when the terminal unit 1 is used to extract air from the room 3, the air passes through the plate 11 from the outer face 13 to the inner face 12 via the through passages 14 which deflect the air flows circulating there so as to distribute the corresponding air intake from substantially the entire room 3.
- the plenum 20 includes an envelope 21 defining an internal volume V21.
- the internal volume V21 allows the air circulating there to be distributed inside the envelope 21.
- the envelope 21 is made of a material which is more flexible than the material constituting the plate 11. This material of the envelope 21 is flexible, being deformable by hand so as to be able to pass the envelope 21 between a configuration deployed, illustrated on the figures 1 to 3 , and a contracted configuration, illustrated in the figure 4 .
- the internal volume V21 is larger when the envelope 21 is in deployed configuration only when the envelope 21 is in contracted configuration.
- the latter includes a main body 22 delimiting the internal volume V21, as well as a sleeve 23 which extends in length from the main body 22 outside the internal volume V21, and this between two ends 23A and 23B of the sleeve 23, opposite each other in the longitudinal direction of this sleeve.
- the material constituting the envelope 21 In practice, multiple embodiments are possible for the material constituting the envelope 21, it being noted that, having regard to the fact that the envelope 21 ensures, through its internal volume V21, the technical function of air distribution, we understands that this material is at least partially airtight, particularly in the sense that its air permeability is less than 14 l/(sm 2 ).
- the material constituting the envelope 21 comprises or consists of one or more textile materials, a textile material being a material resulting from spinning then weaving and/or calendering fibers, coated or not.
- textile materials are nylon, cotton, polyester, fiberglass, etc.
- the material constituting the envelope 21 comprises or consists of one or more materials other than a textile material, that is to say one or more materials not resulting from weaving and/or calendering of fibers.
- materials other than textile material are PVC film, polyethylene film, linoleum, vinyl, rubber, resin, etc.
- the material constituting the envelope 21 is a composite or complex material, that is to say a material consisting of an assembly of several components, having where appropriate different respective natures, these components forming respectively layers, which are superimposed on each other, and/or respectively forming pieces, possibly preformed, of the same layer, which are assembled together to create a patchwork.
- the envelope 21 can result from the assembly of several parts of different or identical structures.
- the assembly of the first and the other components is advantageously carried out by sewing ; for example, in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, the envelope 21 is thus formed of six pieces sewn edge to edge, namely four peripheral pieces and a top bottom piece, which jointly form the main body 22, and a part forming the sleeve 23.
- the assembly of the first and other components is advantageously produced other than by sewing, in particular by stapling, heat sealing, etc.
- the material constituting the envelope 21 comprises two textile layers, where appropriate individually identical, which are superimposed, and a thermally insulating layer, which is interposed between the two textile layers and which is constituted of a material other than a textile material, such as rock wool or wadding, the two textile layers being advantageously sewn together as indicated schematically in dotted lines on the figure 2 And 4 .
- the material constituting the envelope 21 advantageously comes at least in part from recycled materials.
- the main body 22 delimits the internal volume V21 by closing the latter over its entire perimeter surface, except at the level of two through openings 22A and 22B of the main body 22, which are distinct from each other and which are advantageously located on different respective sides of the main body 22.
- the geometric shape of the main body 22 is not limiting, being for example generally parallelepiped or in the shape of a truncated pyramid.
- the opening 22A of the main body 22 is covered by the interior face 12 of the plate 11.
- the plate 11 closes, as it were, the opening 22A over the entire length. the extent of the latter, however remembering that the plate 11 is perforated by the through passages 14.
- This arrangement of the plate 11 with respect to the main body 22 is advantageously used for the purposes of assembling the diffuser 10 and from the plenum 20 to each other.
- the assembly means 30 comprise two elements 31 and 32 designed to cooperate, in particular mechanically, with one another so as to fixedly assemble the diffuser 10 and the plenum 20 to one another, the where appropriate in a reversible manner: the element 31 is carried by the diffuser 10 and is arranged on a peripheral portion of the interior face 12 of the plate 11, inside which the through passages 14 are located, while the element 32 is carried by the plenum 20 and is arranged on one edge of the opening 22A.
- elements 31 and 32 correspond to, respectively, a hook-textured strip and a loop-textured strip, which belong to a hook-and-loop fastening system, commonly called a "velcro" system (registered trademark).
- a hook-and-loop fastening system commonly called a "velcro" system (registered trademark).
- element 31 is made up of a group of male elements, distributed on the interior face 12 of plate 11, and the element 32 is made up of a group of female elements, distributed on the edge of the opening 22A and able to receive and be engaged by the aforementioned male elements.
- the opening 22B of the main body 22 is, for its part, abutting the end 23A of the sleeve 23, this end 23A being adjusted to the opening 22B, so that the sleeve 23 opens entirely into the opening 22B via its end 23A.
- the interior of the main body 22 and the interior of the sleeve 23 are thus in free fluidic communication with each other.
- the end 23B of the sleeve 23 is, for its part, adapted to be connected to a ventilation duct 5 belonging to the ventilation network mentioned above.
- the end 23B of the sleeve 23 is provided with an elastic fixing collar 24, which is adapted for, by elastic deformation, to be reported around and grip the ventilation duct 5, as shown schematically on the figure 2 And 3 .
- the fixing collar 24 has an internal diameter which varies, by means of the elastic deformation of this fixing collar 24, between a minimum value, which is reached when the fixing collar 24 is at rest and which is less than the external diameter of the ventilation duct 5, and a maximum value, which is reached when the fixing collar 24 is stretched and which is greater than the external diameter of the ventilation duct 5.
- the connection between the sleeve 23 and the ventilation duct 5 is thus particularly easy, whatever the specificities of the ventilation duct 5.
- the plenum 20 includes a cuff 40 making it possible to filter the air circulating inside the plenum 20.
- the cuff 40 is arranged inside the internal volume V21 of the envelope 21 and is fixed to the main body 22 of this envelope, extending in length in the longitudinal extension of the sleeve 23, and this between two ends 40A and 40B of the cuff 40, opposite one to the other in the longitudinal direction of this cuff.
- the end 40A of the cuff 40 is adjusted to the opening 22B of the main body 22, so that the sleeve 23 opens entirely into the cuff 40, via the end 23A of the sleeve 23 and the end 40A of the cuff 40.
- the end 40B of the cuff 40 is, for its part, closed, which gives the cuff an overall shape of a tubular pocket, open only at its end 40A, as clearly visible on the Figure 3 .
- the material of the latter is porous, being adapted to retain fine particles present in the air.
- the specificities of the material constituting the cuff 40 are not limiting as long as it has an air filtration power, it being noted that this material is advantageously flexible, in particular presenting a flexibility similar to that of the envelope 21 .
- the attachment of the cuff 40 to the main body 22 is advantageously removable, thus making it possible to easily detach the cuff 40 from the main body 22 and to replace it regularly.
- This removable fastening is achieved by any appropriate means, for example a hook-and-loop fastening system, a zipper system, such as a “Zipper” fastener (registered trademark), etc.
- the terminal unit 1 advantageously comprises hooking means 50 which make it possible to suspend the diffuser 10 and/or the plenum 20 from the ceiling 4.
- the attachment means 50 act exclusively on the plenum 20, while the diffuser 10 is held in place by its fixed assembly with the plenum 20: for this purpose, as clearly visible on the figures 1 And 2 , the attachment means 50 comprise attachment elements 51, carried by the envelope 21, and hangers 52, connecting the attachment elements 51 to the ceiling 4.
- the attachment elements 51 correspond, for example, to slides which are fixed, by sewing or gluing, projecting externally to the envelope 21.
- the hangers 52 are, for example, ropes which, upon installation, are stretched between the attachment elements 51 and the ceiling 4 .
- the hooking means 50 comprise fastening elements, carried by the plate 11 of the diffuser 10, and hangers, connecting these attachment elements to the ceiling 4.
- the attachment elements carried by the diffuser 10 are holes provided on the peripheral edge of the plate 11 and the hangers are ropes, passing through these holes are stretched between the plate 11 and the ceiling 4.
- the assembly means 30 are designed to be reversible, it is possible to transport the diffuser 10 and the plenum 20 separately, which further improves the handling of the terminal unit 1, then to assemble the diffuser 10 and the plenum 20 only shortly before putting the terminal unit 1 into service, in particular on the commissioning site, that is to say in building 2 in the example considered here, this assembly being quick and easy.
- the diffuser 10 and/or the plenum 20 are suspended from the ceiling 4 by the hanging means 50: the corresponding installation operations are facilitated thanks, among other things, to , the low weight of the terminal unit 1 and the ease of connection between the sleeve 23 and the ventilation duct 5.
- the terminal unit 1 is thus installed in a free volume separating the ceiling 4 and a false -ceiling of room 3, so that, at the end of installation, the plate 11 of the diffuser 10 extends continuously in the plane formed by this false ceiling. Due to its flexible structure, the envelope 21 easily adapts to the free volume between the ceiling 4 and the aforementioned false ceiling, including when this free volume is reduced and/or cluttered.
- the terminal unit 1 is aesthetic, in the sense that the exterior face 13 of the plate 11 of its diffuser 10 meets the visual standards of the market, in particular in the presence of a false ceiling, and it is efficient in aeraulic terms, in the sense that the envelope 21 of its plenum 20 ensures good distribution of air with respect to its diffuser 10 which, for its part, ensures good diffusion of the air through its plate 11.
- the terminal unit 1 is also efficient in terms of acoustics, in the sense that, thanks to its flexible structure, the envelope 21 attenuates the noise coming from the ventilation duct 5.
- the terminal unit 1 can be used with, indifferently, an overpressure ventilation network and a depression ventilation network.
- the ventilation duct 5 supplies the terminal unit 1 with pressurized air which fills the internal volume V21 before being evacuated into room 3 of building 2 through the plate 11, which tends, by inflation effect, to pass and maintain the envelope 21 in deployed configuration.
- the ventilation duct 5 draws air from the room 3 through the terminal unit 1, by means of the circulation of the air through the plate 11 then in the internal volume V21: to counteract the suction effect prevailing in the internal volume V21 and prevent the latter from tending to cause the envelope 21 to assume its contracted configuration while the terminal unit 1 is in service
- the terminal unit 1 advantageously comprises holding means 60 which make it possible to maintain the shape of the envelope 21 in the deployed configuration, including during depression of the internal volume V21, while being able to be neutralized to pass the envelope 21 from the deployed configuration to the contracted configuration.
- the holding means 60 In practice, several embodiments are possible for the holding means 60.
- One possibility consists of these holding means 60 comprising all or part of the hooking means 50 since the latter act on the plenum 20: in the example considered in the figures, this amounts to saying that the holding means 60 comprise the attachment elements 51 and the hangers 52 since the latter, by their fixed length once they are stretched between the ceiling 4 and the attachment elements 51 tend to counter the contraction of the envelope 21 in the deployed configuration, while, once the lines 52 are released, neither the lines 52 nor the attachment elements 51 prevent pass the envelope 51 in the contracted configuration.
- this flexible armature including for example one or more elastic hoops which are attached to dedicated sheaths of the envelope 21, acts mechanically on the envelope 21 to counter the contraction of this envelope in the deployed configuration, this armature then being neutralizable by release for allow the envelope 21 to be returned to the contracted configuration.
- the terminal unit 1 can be connected to several ventilation ducts, by providing that its plenum 20 includes several sleeves, individually similar to the sleeve 23 but opening into the internal volume V21 of its envelope 21 through as many respective openings, individually similar to opening 22B.

Description
The present invention relates to a terminal air treatment unit for a building.
In order to treat, in particular renew, the air in a building, a ventilation network is generally installed which makes it possible to bring in and/or extract air from different locations in the building, each equipped with a terminal air treatment unit. Each terminal unit comprises a plenum inside which the air circulates and is distributed between a duct of the ventilation network, opening into the plenum, and a diffuser through which the air passes, being blown into the interior of the building when the ventilation network is at excess pressure or by being taken from inside the building when the ventilation network is at depression. In general, the diffuser is fixed to the plenum, being arranged across a corresponding opening in the plenum, and the plenum integrates a tube around which the duct of the ventilation network is attached and fixed.
The diffuser and the plenum are traditionally made as rigid parts, although in the past alternatives have been proposed. In particular, the diffuser is often made of a steel or aluminum plate, which gives the diffuser good air diffusion characteristics, as well as a popular aesthetic. For its part, the plenum is often made up of a metal box, having the shape of a parallelepiped or a truncated pyramid. This metal box, which is generally arranged in a false ceiling, is appreciated for its fire resistance, its ability to be quickly assembled to the diffuser, and its possibility of being placed in either negative pressure or positive pressure internally. However, such a metal box has drawbacks. Indeed, due to its rigid structure, the box takes up space during transport and storage and can make it unusable if the false ceiling is cluttered or too small. In addition, the weight of the box makes it tedious to pause it at height, in particular its arrangement in the false ceiling and/or its hanging from a ceiling.
The aim of the present invention is to propose a new terminal air treatment unit, which, while being efficient and adapted to market expectations, is more practical.
To this end, the invention relates to a terminal air treatment unit for a building. The terminal unit comprises a rigid diffuser and a flexible plenum, as well as assembly means which securely assemble the diffuser and the plenum to one another. The diffuser comprises a plate which (i) is made of a first material, (ii) has two flat faces, opposite each other, namely an interior face, which is turned towards the plenum, and a face exterior, (iii) is adapted to extend continuously in a plane formed by a false ceiling when the terminal unit is installed in a free volume separating a ceiling (4) and said false ceiling, and (iv) is perforated by air deflection passages which connect the interior and exterior faces to each other. The plenum comprises an envelope which (i) defines an air distribution volume, (ii) is made of a second material, which is more flexible than the first material and which is deformable by hand so as to be able to pass the envelope reversibly between an deployed configuration and a contracted configuration, the air distribution volume being greater when the envelope is in the deployed configuration than when the envelope is in the contracted configuration, (iii) includes a main body which closes the air distribution volume except at at least two through openings of the main body, namely a first opening, which is covered by the inner face of the plate, and a second opening, and (iv) also includes a sleeve which extends in length from the main body outside the air distribution volume between two opposite longitudinal ends of the sleeve, namely a first end, which is fitted to the second opening, and a second end, which is suitable for connection to a ventilation duct.
One of the ideas underlying the invention is to seek to combine a rigid diffuser, well appreciated for its aeraulic and aesthetic qualities, with a cleverly flexible plenum. Thus, the invention provides that an envelope of the plenum, which defines the internal volume of the plenum in which the air circulates and is distributed between the diffuser and a ventilation duct, is made of a material, which is flexible compared to the material rigid in which an air diffusion plate belonging to the diffuser is produced, and which is deformable by hand to allow the envelope to be passed reversibly between respectively deployed and contracted configurations. The air diffusion plate facilitates the integration of the terminal unit into a false ceiling when the terminal unit. When the terminal air treatment unit according to the invention is in service, the envelope is in deployed configuration and internally ensures a usual air distribution, it being understood that the material of the plenum envelope has a level airtightness, which is suitable. The diffuser of this terminal unit is, advantageously in a reversible manner, fixedly assembled to the flexible plenum, by covering an opening of a main body of the envelope of the plenum, while another opening of this main body opens into a sleeve of the envelope, which extends from the main body outside the aforementioned internal volume and which can be connected to the ventilation duct in an easy and reliable manner, as detailed below. The envelope of the plenum makes it particularly easy to install at height, due to the intrinsic flexibility and lightness of this envelope, particularly compared to a metal box as mentioned above. Likewise, due to its flexibility, the plenum envelope attenuates noise coming from the ventilation duct, particularly compared to a metal box as mentioned above. Before putting the terminal air treatment unit according to the invention into service, the plenum envelope can be stored and transported in a contracted configuration, which is particularly practical and economical. As detailed below, the flexible and deformable material constituting the envelope of the plenum is advantageously made, partly or entirely, of a textile material and/or of a material other than a textile material. In all cases, this flexible and deformable material is advantageously provided with additional functionalities, for example being washable and/or non-flammable and/or air purifying, in particular being antibacterial, antifungal, virucidal and/ or depollutant. Furthermore, the terminal air treatment unit according to the invention can advantageously be used both to blow air inside a building, by increasing the pressure inside the envelope. of its plenum which thus tends to be maintained in deployed configuration by its internal overpressure, only to ensure the return of air from the interior of a building, by means of the depression of the interior of the envelope of its plenum and the use of ad hoc means to maintain the shape of the envelope in the deployed configuration, such means being detailed subsequently. More generally, the flexible plenum of the terminal air treatment unit according to the invention advantageously has the same advantages as a metal box as mentioned above, without suffering from the disadvantages linked to its rigidity and its weight. .

In practice, multiple embodiments are possible for the material constituting the
According to a first possibility, the material constituting the
According to a second possibility, the material constituting the
- washable, and/or
- non-flammable, and/or
- an air purifying material, in particular antibacterial, antifungal, virucidal and/or depolluting.
Furthermore, the material constituting the

The
In practice, the attachment of the
According to one embodiment, which is complementary or alternative to that illustrated in the figures and which is not shown in the figures, the hooking
It will be noted that, in service, the
In practice, several embodiments are possible for the holding means 60. One possibility consists of these holding means 60 comprising all or part of the hooking
