Abstract
Description
- The present invention relates to an oven comprising a heater support element.
- In conventional ovens for household use, the heaters which are the heating units of the oven are positioned inside the oven at the upper and lower sides of the oven. Before being mounted into the oven, the heaters are placed onto a support sheet metal. During the placement, the heaters are screwed to the support sheet metal from the terminals thereof and attached to the claws and/or rings on the support sheet metal. The claws/rings on the support sheet metal which heats up and cools down together with the resistors during the operation of the oven get loose in the course of time. The loose claws/rings may cause the generation of noise while the heater heats up and expands. In some cases the claws/rings may be completely detached from the sheet metal/heater.
- In the state of the art Patent Application No. US3899655A, an oven is disclosed, comprising a socket assembly for suspending rod-type heating elements. The socket assembly comprises a base plate attached to the inner surface of the oven and a hinge plate to which the ends of the heating element are attached.
- In the state of the art Patent Application No. US6008478A, a heating element support system for ovens is disclosed. The heating element support system has a rear access opening.
- In the state of the art Patent Application No. US6097003A, a support bar for electric heater elements mounted to the oven is disclosed. The support bar comprising an elongate plate and bracketry is mounted to the inner wall of the oven.
- The aim of the present invention is the realization of an oven comprising a heater support element which facilitates the mounting of the heater.
- The oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a body and a heater support element. The heater support element is fixed to the lower side of the body from inside. The heater support element comprises two side walls, a front wall and a rear wall. A connection opening is provided on the rear wall for making a heater connection. In the heater which is, for example, preferably a resistor, the electrical connection is made by passing the terminals of the heater through the connection opening. After the terminals are passed through the connection opening, the heater is fixed to the rear wall by means of a connection means which is preferably a screw. In a variation of this embodiment, the electrical connection is made by connecting a connection socket, which passes through the connection opening, to the terminals.
- In the oven of the present invention, the distance between the side walls increases from the base upwards. In other words, the side walls are positioned so as to be inclined from the base towards the outside. A mounting opening is provided on each side wall. The mounting opening has a lower end and an upper end. The distance from the upper end to the base is higher with respect to the lower end. The distance from the upper end to the rear wall is higher with respect to the lower end. A hanger rod which is fixed to the heater and which extends along the heater is provided between the side walls. The length of the hanger rod is less than the distance between the opposite upper edges (edges away from the base) of the side walls. Thus, during the assembly process, the hanger rod can be easily placed between the side walls from above by inserting the ends of the hanger rod into the upper ends of the mounting openings. The length of the hanger rod is more than the distance between the opposite lower edges (edges close to the base) of the side walls. The ends of the hanger rod are moved along the mounting openings from the upper ends towards the lower ends. Thus, the hanger rod is suspended such that the ends thereof are seated onto the lower ends of the mounting openings. Consequently, the heater is fixed into the heater support element by means of the hanger rod in a suspended manner. Moreover, as the lower end of the mounting opening is closer to the rear wall than the upper end, the hanger rod and hence the heater get closer to the rear wall while the ends of the hanger rod are moved inside the mounting openings. Thus, the terminals can be easily passed through the connection opening or attached to the connection socket.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the mounting opening is in the form of an L of which the leg extends towards the rear wall. The ends of the hanger rod which are inserted through the upper parts (upper ends) of the L-shaped mounting openings are slid towards the leg parts (lower ends) of the L-shaped mounting openings. Thus, the ends of the hanger rod are enabled to be fixed by being locked onto the leg parts of the L-shaped mounting openings.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the mounting opening is in the form of an arc of which the concave surface faces the rear wall. In other words, the mounting opening is in the form of a quadrant. The ends of the hanger rod which are inserted through the upper ends of the arc-shaped mounting openings are slid towards the lower ends of the arc-shaped mounting openings. Thus, the ends of the hanger rod are enabled to be fixed by being locked onto the lower end parts of the arc-shaped mounting openings.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the mounting opening is in the form of an I which is inclined towards the front wall. The ends of the hanger rod which are inserted through the upper ends of the inclined I-shaped mounting openings are slid towards the lower ends of the inclined I-shaped mounting openings. Thus, the ends of the hanger rod are enabled to be fixed by being locked onto the lower end parts of the inclined I-shaped mounting openings.
- By means of the oven of the present invention, the mounting of the heater is facilitated. The facilitated mounting process decreases the production time and any errors which may occur during the mounting. Moreover, as in the oven of the present invention the heater is not attached on a support sheet metal by means of claws and/or rings, any problems which may occur due to the loosening of the claws and/or rings in the course of time are eliminated.
- The model embodiments relating to an oven realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention are illustrated in the attached figures, where:
