Abstract

Technical area

The present invention relates to a covering element for a tiled roof. In particular, the element of the present invention makes it possible to imitate, once laid, a channel tile provided with a speckle.

Prior art

Current roofs are mainly made with so-called interlocking tiles or mechanical tiles in preference to channel tiles. This choice results mainly from the cost of the implementation of mechanical tiles which is lower than that of a roofing in channel tiles, called old-fashioned roofing.

However, an old-fashioned roofing consisting of channel tiles, that is to say with current tiles with the concavity facing upwards and roof tiles with the concavity facing downwards, gives a specific aesthetic appearance. . The figure 1 shows an example of an old-fashioned roof 4. In particular, at the level of the roof sewer which extends beyond the plumb of the wall, the roof tiles 1 of the second row are sealed on the first row of roof tiles 2 by a mortar, generally white or natural lime. The presence of this seal, also called mouchette 3, is very important from an aesthetic point of view because it gives a wavy shape to the first row of roof tiles which also forms the roof sewer. It is a decorative element that must be kept during the renovation or restoration of an old-fashioned roof in order to comply with heritage codes.

Technical problem

The realization of the flys which is carried out manually by the roofer is long and difficult. Indeed, when depositing the mortar, the roofer must ensure that all the speckles have a similar shape in order to preserve the harmonious aesthetic appearance provided by the wavy shape of this row of snuffers. In addition, the production of mouchettes currently requires the use of channel tiles which is a terracotta tile, having the shape of a truncated half-cone. Even if these channel tiles make it possible to obtain the advantages of an aesthetic order, they have the drawback of being expensive both in terms of their installation and their manufacture, and entails a significant additional cost, particularly in terms of the implementation of the cover. To remedy these drawbacks, so-called mechanical interlocking tiles are proposed. The dimensions of the interlocking tiles are larger and the presence of the interlocking allows to obtain a seal between tiles with a low overlap. However, within the framework of the restoration of an old-fashioned roof, it is not authorized to use these mechanical tiles which do not allow the realization of the mouchettes. As a result, the use of mechanical tiles is limited to relatively recent or semi-industrialized constructions.

The object of the present invention is therefore to remedy these drawbacks by proposing a covering element, imitating, once placed on a tile, the appearance of a traditional channel tile provided with a speckle, while guaranteeing a setting. simple and fast work on any type of tile, requiring neither a modification of the support of the tiles, nor a special installation of the tiles.

Description of embodiments

For the sake of clarity, the same numerical reference is used for figures 2 and 3 to designate the same part of the covering element according to the invention.

The terms “upper”, “rear”, “lower” and “front” are to be understood with reference to the arrangement of the covering element, when mounted on a tile with respect to the direction of the slope of the roof. blanket. The covering element 10 according to an embodiment of the invention shown in figures 2 and 3 is in one piece and mainly comprises a rigid main body 13 having a substantially convex convex shape and a front part 12 integral with the main body. The covering element 10 is intended to partially cover a tile 20 in a covering. More precisely, in the case where the tile is a mechanical tile, the covering element is positioned on the convex part of the mechanical tile with the concavity facing upwards. The rigid main body 13 has a substantially elongated shape and a truncated half-cone making it possible to obtain a profile reproducing that of a channel tile. When the trim member is positioned on the tile, the front edge 13A of the main body is wider and has a larger radius of curvature than the rear edge 13B. The concavity of the main body faces upwards like the tile that the trim element has just covered. The length of the main body is adjusted so as to cover almost all of the tile as shown in the figure 2 .

According to one embodiment, the main body is made of a rigid plastic material or of polyvinyl chloride. Preferably, it has a color similar to that of a tile to mimic the appearance of a tile. According to one variant, the main body can be made directly from the same material as a tile, for example from terracotta.

The front part 12 is integral with the front edge of the main body 13A. It has a shape of substantially triangular section having a lateral side 12A resting against the front edge of the main body and a base 12B resting against a surface of the tile. The front part extends over almost the entire cross section of the main body so as to completely close the opening formed by the concavity of the main body when the covering element is positioned on the tile. Further, the height of the front part, that is to say the length of the lateral side, is adjusted so as to leave a free space E between the main body and the tile to promote air circulation.

The front part is made of a flexible material so that the base 12B can come to match the substantially curved shape of the tile. One end of the lateral side 12A is fixed to the front edge of the main body by adhesive means or any other suitable means. The front part is similar in color to a fly, which is usually gray or off-white.

The front part is preferably made of a gasket material or foam.

According to one embodiment, the covering element 10 comprises a flexible tongue 14 located in the extension of the rear edge of the main body. When the covering element is positioned on the tile, the tongue is intended to be placed under the front edge of the tile adjacent to the tile covered by the covering element and which is arranged in the upper row. This tongue is preferably made of lead and its function is to ensure continuity between the covered tile and the neighboring tile of a higher rank and to seal it.

According to another embodiment, the covering element 10 further comprises a support 16 positioned in the vicinity of the front part 12 and integral with the front edge of the main body. This support may for example be in the form of profiled tenons fixed to the inner face of the main body. It can be done at the same time as the main body. The support has a height substantially similar to that of the front part 12 and makes it possible to help maintain the main body at a certain height relative to the surface of the tile 20. Thus, the support 16 makes it possible to avoid crushing the front part in time.

The covering element further comprises assembly means enabling the covering element to be fixed to the tile.

According to one embodiment of the invention, these assembly means comprise hooks 15 having two free ends 15A, 15B which are profiled to come to hook respectively on a front edge of the main body and on a front edge of the tile. 20.

Preferably, each of the hooks is obtained by deformation from a stainless metal wire.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the covering element can be fixed to the tile by adhesive means.

Advantageously, in the case where the assembly means are hooks, one end of the hooks intended to be positioned on the front edge of the tile comprises a grid or a shutter (not shown in the figures) intended to close almost all of the lower section of the convex part of the tile. The purpose of this grille or shutter is to prevent the intrusion of insects or animals into the attic.

According to a particularly advantageous form, the grid can be obtained by deformation from the same metal wire forming the hooks.

The covering element can be used to cover all types of tiles. It is particularly suitable for covering the convex domed part of a mechanical tile, arranged in the second row of a covering pan to imitate the appearance of a fly in an old-fashioned blanket. The covering element allows a rapid and economical production of a line of mouchettes without modifying the laying of the other tiles and the structure of the battens receiving the tiles.

According to one embodiment of the invention, when the main body is made of the same material as a tile, that is to say of terracotta, said covering element is intended to be used as a tile for be assembled with the other tiles to make a roof covering.

The covering element is particularly suitable for use in the restoration of an old-fashioned roof or in the production of a roof to form a decorative row of speckles on the lower part of the roof slope.
