Description

The present invention relates to a dispenser system for wet wipes and to a method for producing the dispenser system.

Dispenser systems for wipes are known, for example from the international patent application WO 2008/122961 A1 . The present invention is based on the object of providing an improved dispenser system for wet wipes. In particular, the present invention is based on the object of providing a dispenser system for wet wipes which can be stored for a long period of time and is easy to use. The invention solves that Tasks with a dispenser system according to claim 1 and a method according to claim 14.

According to the invention, the dispenser system comprises a stack with several wet wipes and packaging for the stack. The wipes contain a liquid or are moistened with a liquid, which is why they are referred to here as wet wipes. The packaging is designed as a film packaging and is intended in particular to protect the contents of the dispenser system, that is to say the wet wipes, from drying out and contamination.

The packaging has several components. A film laminate made of at least two interconnected film layers is used as the primary packaging material. The film laminate envelops the stack. An inner film layer and an outer film layer are thereby formed. The inner film layer is that film layer of the laminate which forms the inside of the dispenser packaging and consequently can also contact the wet wipes. The outer film layer is that film layer of the laminate which forms the outside of the dispenser packaging. Further film layers can be present between the inner and the outer film layer if the film laminate consists of more than two film layers.

There is a perforation in the film laminate. This perforation creates a weakened area in the film laminate. In the present case, the weakened area means the area of the film laminate which is delimited by the perforation and which can be detached from the film laminate when the film laminate is opened along the perforation.

The packaging has a pull-off element as a further component. The pull-off element is arranged on the outer film layer, that is to say on the outside of the packaging, and is connected to the weakened area. The pull-off element is an aid and is used to be able to easily remove the weakened area from the film laminate manually. A removal opening is thereby formed in the film laminate. The removal opening grants access to the interior of the dispenser system so that the wet wipes can be removed from the dispenser system. The pull-off element is intended to be completely removed from the packaging when it is opened for the first time. When the release element is removed from the package, the film laminate opens along the perforation and the weakened area remains adhered to the release element.

The packaging also includes a closure element. Like the pull-off element, the closure element is arranged on the outer film layer, that is to say on the outside of the packaging, and is connected to the film laminate. However, the closure element is not connected to the weakened area and remains permanently on the packaging. This is because the closure element is used to essentially cover the removal opening again in an airtight manner when the dispenser system is not in use. This prevents the wet wipes from drying out and contamination after the dispenser system has been opened.

It is characteristic of the dispenser system according to the invention that a sealing film is present in the dispenser system. The sealing film is used to prevent the wet wipes from coming into direct contact with the perforation and to re-seal the entry port for liquid in the film laminate created by the perforation. This is achieved by arranging the sealing film between the stack and the inner film layer, that is to say the inside of the packaging, and thereby completely covering the perforation. In addition, according to the invention, the sealing film is connected to the weakened area. As a result, the sealing film can be removed together with the weakened area when the packaging is opened with the pull-off element.

The advantage of the dispenser system according to the invention is that the sealing film can prevent the wet wipes from coming into contact with the perforation. The disadvantageous effects on the appearance and cohesion of the packaging material resulting from the contact of the wet wipes with the perforation can thus be avoided. The connection of the sealing film to the weakened area is particularly advantageous in the dispenser system according to the invention. As a result, the sealing film is pulled out of the dispenser system when the pull-off element is removed from the packaging and access to the wet wipes is made possible. No additional work step is required to remove the sealing film from the dispenser system. In addition, the sealing film is fixed by the connection with the weakened area in the dispenser system and secured against slipping. Due to the advantages mentioned, the dispenser system according to the invention can be stored for a long period of time and is easy to use. Further advantages result from the preferred embodiments described below.

The stack can contain at least 10, preferably at least 20, more preferably at least 40, particularly preferably at least 60 and very particularly preferably at least 80 wet wipes. Typically, however, there are no more than 120 wet wipes in the stack. In particular, the stack contains 40 to 80 wet wipes. These quantities have proven to be suitable both by the manufacturer and by the user.

The wet wipes are preferably designed to be absorbent. The absorption capacity refers to the towels when dry. The wipes can then be moistened more easily with liquid and hold it better. The wet wipes can comprise an absorbent fabric, an absorbent knitted fabric, an absorbent foam and / or an absorbent fleece. In particular, the wet wipes are absorbent nonwoven wipes.

The advantages of the dispenser system come into play particularly when the wet wipes are moistened with a cleaning agent and / or a disinfectant. Cleaning agents and disinfectants often contain organic solvents, surfactants, oils, acids or alkalis, which can quickly break the cohesion of film laminates. The preferred area of application for the dispenser system described here is disinfection, the wet wipes then being moistened with a disinfectant, for example a surface disinfectant.

The packaging is usually designed as a flow pack. A flowpack is a bag-like film packaging with a longitudinal seam and two transverse seams. Many commercially available tissue dispensers have this type of flowpack packaging. Flowpack packaging is also described many times in the patent literature, for example in the EP 1 346 917 A1 . Single-use flow packs are lightweight and generate a low volume of waste.

The film laminate of the packaging preferably consists of two film layers connected to one another, which then form the inner and outer film layer according to the claims when the stack is wrapped. Such laminates are commercially available and are often used for wrapping wet wipes. If a particularly robust packaging material is desired for the dispenser system, a film laminate with more than two interconnected film layers can also be used. For example, the film laminate can then consist of three, four or five interconnected film layers. For a film laminate with more than two Film layers connected to one another form the two film layers on the underside and on the upper side, the inner and outer film layer according to the claims. As is customary with laminates, the connection of the film layers can be established with an adhesive.

The individual film layers of the film laminate can consist of a plastic or a metal. The film laminate can comprise only plastic films or both plastic films and metal foils. Suitable plastics are polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polystyrene (PS) or polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH). A suitable metal is aluminum. The adhesive used to connect the film layers can be a solvent-based or solvent-free laminating adhesive.

In the case of a film laminate consisting of two film layers, the inner film layer is preferably made of polyethylene and the outer film layer is made of polyethylene terephthalate.

In the case of a film laminate composed of three film layers, the inner film layer is preferably made of polyethylene, the middle film layer is made of aluminum and the outer film layer is made of polyethylene terephthalate.

The perforation is typically designed as an incision or a punching. The perforation can penetrate the film laminate completely, reference being made to the thickness of the film laminate. Such a perforation is simple to implement in terms of process technology and enables the dispenser system with the pull-off element to be opened particularly easily.

Alternatively, the perforation can only partially penetrate the film laminate, reference being made also to the thickness of the film laminate. Different variants are possible here. Thus, in a first variant, the inner film layer can be perforated and the outer film layer can not be perforated. Further layers present between the inner and outer film layers can also be covered by the perforation. In a second variant, the outer film layer can be perforated and the inner film layer can not be perforated. Further layers present between the inner and outer film layers can also be covered by the perforation in the second variant. In the case of partial perforation, the intention is that the perforation does not penetrate the film laminate over its entire thickness and that at least one film layer - either the outer (first variant) or the inner (second variant) film layer - remains intact. Compared to a perforation which completely penetrates the film laminate, the perforation which only partially penetrates the film laminate The barrier properties of the film laminate are less affected. Nevertheless, the dispenser system can still be opened with the pull-off element.

Machines and methods for producing such a partial perforation are known. For example, laser cutting processes or kiss-cut processes can be used (in the case of a kiss-cut process, the perforation is then also referred to here as a "kiss-cut perforation"). If necessary, procedural inaccuracies can inadvertently lead to perforation or damage (“scratching”) to that film layer that is actually intended to remain intact.

Furthermore, the perforation is normally designed as a circumferential dividing line. A circumferential dividing line delimits an area (the area is the weakened area in the present case) and can also be implemented with dashed or dotted lines. The perforation is then preferably designed as an essentially rectangular, circular or oval-shaped dividing line. Accordingly, a substantially rectangular, circular or oval-shaped removal opening is obtained when the pull-off element is removed from the packaging. These shapes have been found to be suitable so that the wet wipes can be easily removed from the dispenser system.

The removal opening obtained with a rectangular dividing line can tear at the corners if necessary. In order to avoid this, the corners of the perforation are advantageously rounded (which should be understood as "essentially" rectangular).

The perforation can advantageously be present in an upper side of the packaging, in particular centered in an upper side of the packaging. Correspondingly, the removal opening is then also present in the top of the packaging. With this configuration, the wet wipes can easily be removed from the dispenser system. In addition, the likelihood of large amounts of liquid coming into contact with the perforation is lower from the outset with this configuration. If liquid should escape from the wipes, it will collect at the bottom of the packaging and not at the top.

The pull-off element is usually an adhesive film. One side of the adhesive film has an adhesive coating, while the other side is non-adhesive. The side with the adhesive coating is used to arrange the adhesive film on the outside of the packaging and to connect it to the weakened area. The adhesive strength must be selected so that the dispenser system can be opened as described above. In a preferred embodiment, the adhesive film is designed as a sticker. This means that the adhesive film is printed, for example with information on the intended direction of removal. The handling of the dispenser system can thus be further improved. The pull-off element can be formed, for example, from a polyethylene or polypropylene film that is coated on one side with an acrylate-based adhesive.

The closure element can be a hinged cover. The hinged cover usually also comprises a frame and a hinge-like connection. Hinged lids are robust and can be easily opened and closed again. The connection of the closure element and in particular the hinged lid to the outside of the packaging can be done with an adhesive, as in the case of the pull-off element. For example, polyethylene, polypropylene or polystyrene can be considered as the material for the closure element.

As described above, an essential feature of the dispenser system according to the invention is the sealing film.

The sealing foil is only connected to the weakened area. In this way, the sealing film can easily be pulled out of the dispenser system.

The sealing film and the weakened area can be connected with an adhesive, in which case this should advantageously be essentially insensitive to the liquid contained in the wet wipes. This can be the case with an acrylate-based adhesive. To connect the two components, the adhesive can be applied point-like or flat to the weakened area and the sealing film can then be applied. The sealing film and the weakened area could, however, also be connected to one another with a piece of film that is adhesive on both sides or by welding.

Furthermore, the sealing film is normally designed as a closed layer. There are therefore normally no holes or openings of any kind in the sealing film which could impair the sealing effect of the sealing film or make it difficult to connect the sealing film to the weakened area. In addition, the sealing film is usually designed to be flexible so that it can fit well against the packaging material.

Like the film laminate of the packaging, the sealing film is typically designed to be essentially liquid-impermeable. In particular, the sealing film is designed to be essentially impermeable to the liquid contained in the wet wipes. This can contain water and, in the case of disinfectants, also organic solvents, so that the sealing film is typically impermeable to water and / or organic solvents, in particular alcohols. Ideally, the sealing film is inert to solvents and can be bonded with acrylate adhesives. The properties indicated above can be achieved if the sealing film is made of polyethylene or polyester (including polylactide).

According to the invention, the sealing film must cover the perforation. For this purpose, the sealing film is typically made larger than the weakened area, with an edge region of the sealing film covering the perforation. For a good seal, it is advantageous if the edge area of the sealing film always overlaps the perforation by at least 1 cm, in particular always by at least 1.5 cm. A particularly good seal is achieved when the sealing film completely covers the top of the stack of wet wipes. In this case, however, the sealing film can turn out to be relatively large, which can make it more difficult to pull the sealing film out of the dispenser system. So that the sealing film can be easily pulled out of the dispenser system, the edge area of the sealing film preferably always covers the perforation by no more than 3 cm.

The sealing film can be designed essentially rectangular, circular or oval-shaped. In particular, it can be provided that the sealing film and the perforation have the same shape. For example, both the sealing film and the perforation can be oval-shaped.

Furthermore, a side of the sealing film facing the inner film layer is preferably essentially completely in contact with the inner film layer with the perforation. This can be achieved in that the dimensions of the stack and the packaging are matched to one another in such a way that the sealing film can be pressed by the stack against the inner film layer with the perforation and held in position. Then the sealing foil can best protect the perforation from contact with the liquid from the wet wipes.

The method according to the invention for producing a dispenser system for wet wipes comprises the following steps:
  1. i. Providing a film laminate of at least two interconnected film layers for forming a package, the film layers in the Packaging form an inner film layer contacting the wet wipes and an outer film layer.
  2. ii. Perforating, in particular punching, the film laminate, a weakened area being produced in the film laminate.
  3. iii. Providing a pull-off element, in particular a sticker.
  4. iv. Providing a closure element, in particular a hinged cover.
  5. v. Providing a sealing film.
  6. vi. Connecting, in particular gluing, the pull-off element to the outer film layer, the pull-off element being connected to the weakened area.
  7. vii. Connecting, in particular gluing, the closure element to the outer film layer, the pull-off element being accessible when the closure element is opened, and the pull-off element being covered by the closure element in a substantially airtight manner when the closure element is closed.
  8. viii. Connecting, in particular gluing, the sealing film to the inner film layer, the sealing film being connected only to the weakened area and the sealing film covering the perforation.
  9. ix. Providing a stack of wet wipes.
  10. x. Enveloping the stack with the film laminate to form the packaging, the sealing film being arranged between the stack and the inner film layer.

The sequence of the process steps can also be changed if necessary.

A removal opening can be formed in the film laminate by opening the closure element and removing the pull-off element from the package, the weakened area remaining adhered to the pull-off element together with the sealing film. The removal opening can then be covered again in an essentially airtight manner by closing the closure element.

The additional features of the preferred embodiments of the dispenser system can be transferred accordingly to the method for producing the dispenser system.

FigurenbeschreibungFigure description

The dispenser system proposed in this document is illustrated below using the Figures 1 to 8 illustrated by way of example. Identical structural elements can be identified with the same reference symbols.
  • Figure 1 shows a dispenser system 1 in an exemplary embodiment. The dispenser system 1 has a film packaging 2 designed as a flow pack. You can see in Figure 1 another hinged lid 3 attached to an outside of the film packaging 2 . The outside of the film packaging 2 with the hinged lid 3 forms an intended upper side of the dispenser system 1 . The hinged lid 3 is in Figure 1 shown in a closed state. In the film packaging 2 there is a stack of wet wipes and a sealing film (not shown).
  • Figure 2 shows the dispenser system 1 Figure 1 with opened hinged cover 3 . The hinged lid 3 also includes a frame 4 with which the hinged lid 3 is attached to the film packaging 2 . Lid 3 and frame 4 are connected in a hinge-like manner and can be locked into one another. A sticker 5 is located inside the frame 4 on the outside of the film packaging 2 . A printed triangle indicates where the sticker 5 should be touched to peel it off. The sticker 5 covers an essentially rectangular perforation 6 in the film packaging 2, which is designed as a dividing line. The perforation 6 creates a weakened area 7 in the film packaging 2 . If the label 5 is peeled off from the film package 2, the film package 2 tears along the perforation 6, and the weakened portion 7 remains attached to the label. 5 An opening is then created in the film packaging 2, which is provided for removing the wet wipes.
  • Figure 3 shows the dispenser system 1 Figure 1 with regard to the sealing film already mentioned. For the sake of clarity, the hinged cover 3 and the sticker 5 are not shown in this figure. The essentially liquid-impermeable sealing film 8 adjoins an inside of the film packaging 2 and is subject to the perforation 6 or the weakened area 7 . By the sealing film 8 is formed larger than the weakened area 7, the sealing film 8 may completely cover the perforation 6 and a direct contact of the wet wipes (not shown) prevent the perforation. 6 An edge region of the sealing film 8 that overlaps the perforation 6 is identified by the reference number 9 . the Sealing film 8 is also connected to the weakened area 7 (not shown, see FIG Figure 6 ). As a result, the sealing film 8 can be removed together with the weakened area 7 when the film packaging 2 with the sticker 5 is opened.
  • Figure 4 shows the dispenser system 1 Figure 1 in a schematic longitudinal section (central section through the dispenser as in Figure 3 indicated by the dashed line). It can be seen in this figure in particular that the sealing film 8 is arranged in the dispenser system 1 between the stack 10 with the wet wipes and the inside of the film packaging 2 (inner film layer according to the claims) and thereby covers the perforation 6. The framed image section with the reference numeral 11 is shown in the following Figures 5 and 6 shown in more detail.
  • Figure 5 FIG. 11 is a detailed view of a selected component of the image section 11 from FIG Figure 4 . This figure shows the exact structure of the packaging material from which the film packaging 2 primarily consists. The packaging material is a film laminate 12 . In the example shown, this has two film layers 13, 14 . The film layer 13 forms the inside of the film packaging 2 (inner film layer according to the claims). The film layer 14 forms the outside of the film packaging 2 (outer film layer according to the claims). As is customary with laminates, the two film layers 13, 14 are connected to one another with an adhesive 15. Furthermore shows Figure 5 That the perforation is formed as a kiss-cut perforation. 6 The perforation 6 therefore penetrates the inner film layer 13 and possibly also the adhesive layer 15 (not shown), but not the outer film layer 14 . The weakened area is again identified with the reference number 7 .
  • Figure 6 is also a detailed view too Figure 4 . The film laminate 12 is shown as in FIG Figure 5 and in addition the sticker 5 and the sealing film 8, so that a detailed view of the complete image section 11 from FIG Figure 4 results. The adhesive coating 16 of the sticker 5 is connected to the film layer 14 , being placed over the weakened area 7 and thus also connected to it. The sealing film 8 is connected to the weakened area 7 by means of adhesive 17 , being placed under the weakened area 7 and overlapping it (edge area 9 ). The sealing film 8 is only connected to the inner film layer 13 of the weakened area 7 so that it can be easily removed from the dispenser system.
  • Figure 7 shows the dispenser system 1 Figure 1 when opened (schematic longitudinal section similar to in Figure 4 ). When the dispenser system 1 is opened for the first time, the hinged cover 3 is opened so that the sticker 5 is accessible. The sticker 5 is then peeled off, the weakened area 7 being removed together with the sealing film 8. A removal opening 18 is created in the film laminate 12 at the point where the weakened area 7 was previously located. Wet wipes can be removed from the dispenser system 1 through the removal opening 18 when the hinged lid 3 is open. The dispenser system 1 can be closed again in a substantially airtight manner by closing the hinged lid 3 in order to prevent the wet wipes remaining in the dispenser system 1 from drying out and contamination. This state is shown in the figure.

The dimensions of the dispenser system 1 from FIGS Figures 1 to 7 called.

Folienverpackung 2: circa 190 mm x 345 mm x 50 mm (Breite x Länge x Höhe) Klappdeckel 3 mit Rahmen 4: circa 74 mm x 98 mm (Breite x Länge) Aufkleber 5: circa 45 mm x 70 mm (Breite x Länge) Perforation 6, Entnahmeöffnung 18: circa 25 mm x 50 mm (Breite x Länge) Dichtungsfolie 8: circa 55 mm x 80 mm (Breite x Länge)Foil packaging 2 : approx. 190 mm x 345 mm x 50 mm (width x length x height) hinged lid 3 with frame 4 : approx. 74 mm x 98 mm (width x length) Sticker 5 : approx. 45 mm x 70 mm (width x length) Perforation 6 , removal opening 18 : approx. 25 mm x 50 mm (width x length) Sealing foil 8 : approx. 55 mm x 80 mm (width x length)

The dispenser system 1 with the aforementioned dimensions can contain a stack 10 with 40 wet wipes. In the unfolded state, the wet wipes can be approximately 250 mm x 380 mm (width x length) in size.

Die Figuren 8a und 8b zeigen das Ergebnis eines Versuchs, in dem der Effekt der Dichtungsfolie simuliert wurde.the Figures 8a and 8b show the result of a test in which the effect of the sealing film was simulated.

The following materials were used for the experiment:
  • Foil laminate: multilayer composite foil made of 3 foil layers, the outer foil layer being made of polyethylene terephthalate, the middle foil layer made of aluminum and the inner foil layer made of polyethylene.
  • Wet wipes: absorbent polyester fleece wipes, soaked with an alkaline solution (pH> 10)
  • Sealing film: plastic film, inert to the impregnation solution used

An opening was cut in the film laminate for the test. The film laminate was then used once without ( Figure 8a ) and once with ( Figure 8b ) the sealing film is applied to the wet wipes. The appearance of the film laminate was documented after storage for a period of 6 months. The experiment has shown that the appearance and the cohesion of the film laminate with the sealing film can be preserved.
