Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for ironing items of laundry according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the laundry items are mangled in at least one mangle.
- ironing often takes place with several successive ironers.
- the ironers are preferably connected or chained to one another by so-called bridges, so that the items of laundry pass through the successive ironers one after the other.
- the mangle can also be done with a mangle that has several successive mangle rollers. These are so-called multi-roller ironers.
- the flat surfaces are heated to a greater or lesser extent depending on the type of item of laundry, in particular its type of fabric (synthetic and / or natural fibers), its fabric thickness and / or the number of layers.
- Sensitive items of laundry especially lighter, thin, single-layer items of laundry, are ironed at a lower ironing temperature so that they do not scorch when ironing.
- insensitive items of laundry that is, heavier items of laundry that have a thick fabric and / or have two layers, can be ironed at higher ironing temperatures.
- the ironing temperatures of insensitive and sensitive items of laundry have so far been in the range of 175 ° C to 195 ° C.
- the ironing of the laundry items with the maximum ironing temperature for the respective laundry item type requires a prior sorting of the laundry items into sensitive and insensitive laundry items or also those that have a medium sensitivity. This requires an additional sorting step and a suitable sorting system. For reasons of cost, efforts are made to avoid such sorting, so that sensitive, medium-sensitive and insensitive items of laundry are then mangled together. Depending on the ironing temperature, this can lead to items made of thick fabric and / or double-layered items of laundry, i.e. insensitive items of laundry, not being dried sufficiently when ironing and / or sensitive, i.e. thin, single-layered items of laundry being overheated, which in extreme cases can lead to Scorching of the delicate laundry can result.
- a mangle line comprising an input machine, a mangle and a folding machine is known.
- Various sensors are assigned to these machines, which deliver their measurement signals to a controller. This controls several treatment parameters, in particular the ironing pressure, the ironing temperature and the ironing speed.
- the FR 2 694 309 A1 discloses a mangle with a double-walled mangle trough made of thin, flexible metal sheets through which superheated air flows.
- the EP 1 403 417 A1 describes a ribbon ironer with a heated ironer cylinder that can be driven in rotation and a ironer belt that largely surrounds the ironer cylinder.
- Moisture sensors are provided at the entry and exit areas of the lack of ribbons.
- a temperature sensor is located between the inlet and outlet areas to determine the temperature of the outer surface of the heated ironer cylinder. It is also intended to determine further deficiency parameters and properties of the laundry to be deficient.
- a double-walled ironer trough is known, which is formed from two flexible sheets of different thicknesses.
- the metal sheets are connected to one another by a grid of welding points and the thin metal sheet is hydraulically expanded in such a way that flow channels for a heating medium for heating the ironer trough are created between the metal sheets outside the areas of the welding points. Inner areas of the welding points are pierced. This allows z. B. Moisture escape through the ironer trough.
- the invention is based on the object of creating a method for ironing items of laundry which allows unsorted items of laundry to be mangled without the risk of overheating of sensitive items of laundry and inadequate final drying of insensitive items of laundry.
- a method for solving this problem has the measures of claim 1. Accordingly, it is provided that the respective ironer or ironers are heated in such a way that their flat surface or flat surfaces have a temperature which corresponds to the maximum permissible ironing temperature of the most sensitive items of laundry to be deficient.
- the most sensitive items of laundry are mainly single-layer items and items with a thin fabric, such as bedsheets or tablecloths.
- the method is further developed in such a way that the mangle or mangles together have a preferably elongated flat surface which is sufficient to sufficiently dry even less sensitive items of laundry and / or thicker items of laundry in which even more moisture is bound and / or items of laundry that allow a higher mangle temperature sufficiently smooth. Then both less sensitive (less bound moisture exhibiting) items of laundry and less sensitive (more moisture exhibiting) items of laundry with an ironing temperature adapted to sensitive laundry items and / or a reduced ironing temperature in the case of ironers can also be dried sufficiently.
- the ironing temperature is adapted to, in particular reduced, the ironing temperature
- the ironing speed is reduced to such an extent that the reduced, above all reduced, ironing temperature is compensated for by a longer dwell time of the items of laundry in the ironing machine.
- the method according to the invention enables unsorted laundry, both more sensitive laundry items containing less residual moisture and less sensitive laundry items containing more residual moisture, to be mixed up, i.e. in any sequence, without damage to more sensitive laundry items occurring and less sensitive laundry items not being dried sufficiently.
- the ironing temperature is such a temperature that causes laundry items to not be heated above a maximum permissible temperature at the end of the mangling process, i.e. in the run-out area of the single mangle or the last mangle.
- This maximum permissible mangle temperature therefore corresponds to the temperature to which the laundry items to be deficient are heated to the maximum will.
- the missing items of laundry reach this maximum temperature at the end of the flattening path.
- the ironing speed is always kept constant. It is therefore also not necessary to know the type of laundry item entering the mangle or the first mangle and then to individually set the ironing speed and / or temperature of the ironing device required for the laundry item in question.
- the ironing temperature of the single ironer or several successive ironers so that sensitive (drier) items of laundry at the end of the flattening path, especially in the outlet area, have been heated up to their maximum allowable ironing temperature.
- less sensitive (moist) items of laundry are only heated to a temperature below the maximum permissible ironing temperature up to the outlet area. So that such moist items of laundry are nevertheless sufficiently dried at the end, the peeling path is due to the mangle or the mangles for longer than would be necessary to iron damper items of laundry at the maximum permissible temperature.
- the laundry items with at least one ironer are ironed at a reduced ironing temperature of between 130 ° C. and 170 ° C., in particular between 140 ° C. and 160 ° C. It is preferably provided that the ironing temperature of all successive ironers is in the range from 130.degree. C. to 170.degree. C., in particular 104.degree. C. to 160.degree.
- the ironing temperature of all successive ironers is approximately the same. Due to the reduced ironing temperature in the specified range, which is below the usual ironing temperatures in the range from 175 ° C. to 195 ° C., the method according to the invention also ensures gentle drying of more sensitive (thinner and / or less moist) items of laundry. In the case of several successive ironers with the ironing temperature of all the ironers in the reduced or reduced temperature range or even the same ironing temperature of all the ironers, this simplifies the operation and control of the ironers.
- the ironing temperatures of some or all of the successive ironers are different, in that they preferably decrease from the first to the last ironer, viewed in the ironing direction.
- the different ironing temperatures of all ironing machines are in the range from 130 ° C to 170 ° C, especially 140 ° C to 160 ° C. This procedure brings about a relatively rapid warming up of the items of laundry to be deficient at the beginning of a mangle line consisting of several successive mangers.
- the temperature gradient of the ironing temperature, which decreases in the direction of the ironing, is selected so that the higher temperature of the first ironing does not excessively heat sensitive items of laundry.
- mangles In terms of the process, it is possible to form all successive mangles from troughed mangles or ribbon mangles.
- the mangles can also be formed from a succession of trough ironers and strip ironers in any order.
- the use of flatwork ironers as well as ribbon ironers can be advantageous if a certain finish of the laundry items, in particular a double-sided finish of the same, is desired.
- the mangles shown in the figures are used to mangle items of laundry that are not shown.
- the items of laundry are preferably so-called flat linen, that is to say tablecloths, serviettes, duvet covers, sheets or the like.
- the laundry items that still have residual moisture are ironed from the ironers and, in the process, finally dried down to a certain, predetermined residual moisture.
- the Fig. 1 shows a single defect, which is designed as a ligament defect 10.
- Such belt ironers 10 are also referred to in technical jargon as belt ironers.
- the ironer 10 has a stationary and stationary cylindrical ironer body 11 and a ironer belt 13 which largely surrounds the cylindrical outer surface 12 of the ironer.
- the ironer body 11 can also have a different, preferably non-circular, cross-section, so does not need according to the embodiment of FIG Fig. 1 to be cylindrical. It is also conceivable to drive the cylindrical ironer body 11 to rotate.
- the ironer body 11 of the ligament ironer 10 is heated from the inside. This heating can be done with steam, thermal oil, flames from a burner, but also electrically or with infrared radiation. As a result of the heating, the large lateral surface 12 of the ironer body 11 forms a continuous flattening surface 14 in the area wrapped by the ironer belt 13. In this case, the region of the lateral surface 12 of the ironer body 11, which is wrapped by the ironer band 13, forms the smoothing path 16 running along the smoothing surface 14 in the ironing direction 15.
- the endless ironer belt 13 is continuously driven in a revolving manner, so that it runs along a large part of the outer circumference of the outer surface 12 of the ironer body 11, which is heated from the inside, in the ironer direction 15 along the flattening path 16.
- the ironer band 13 is brought up to the outer surface 12 of the ironer body 11 on an inlet side 17 and is diverted from the outer surface 12 of the ironer body 11 on an outlet side 18.
- the inlet side 17 and the outlet side 18 are each associated with deflecting drums 20, 21 running parallel to one another and also parallel to a central longitudinal axis 19 of the ironer body 11.
- the laundry items are the inlet side 17 of the ironer 10 by one in the Fig. 1 Defect input machine, not shown, or possibly also feedable in another way. From the outlet side 18, the ironed and finally dried items of laundry are optionally one in the Fig. 1 not shown folding machine fed.
- the ironer gap, not shown, for the laundry items to run through through the ironer 10 is between that part of the lateral surface 12 of the ironer body 11 wrapped around by the ironer belt 13 and that between the guide drums 20 and 21 formed around the ironer body 11 section or strand of the ironer band 13.
- the Fig. 2 shows two successive ironers, namely flatwork ironers 23.
- the flatwork ironers 23 are designed in the same way, so that the same reference numerals are used for both. However, different flatwork ironers 23 can also follow one another.
- Each of the ironer troughs 23 has a stationary, stationary ironer trough 24 and a cylindrical ironer roller 25 which can be driven in rotation.
- the approximately semicircular and preferably flexible ironer trough 24 surrounds at least one lower half of the respective ironer roller 25.
- the preferably double-walled ironer trough 24 can be heated by having at least one flow channel for a heat transfer medium such as steam or thermal oil inside or outside.
- the ironer trough 24 can also be heated electrically or with infrared rays. Then it does not need to have any internal flow channels and it also does not need to be double-walled.
- a semicircular inside of the ironer trough 24 forms a flattening surface 27 for each trough ironer 23.
- each trough ironer 23 can be driven to rotate about a horizontal central longitudinal axis 26 running transversely to the ironer direction 15.
- a so-called ironer gap (not shown in the figures) is located between the respective ironer trough 24 and the ironer roller 25.
- the items of laundry are transported through the ironer gap in the ironer direction 15, whereby they are heated on the heated inner flattening surface 27 of the respective ironer trough 24.
- the flattening surface 27 of each hollow ironer 23 forms a semicircular flattening path 16.
- the in the Fig. 2 The defect shown over an entire peeling path 16, which corresponds to twice the peeling path 16 of each trough ironer 23.
- An arcuate ironer bridge 28 is located between the trough ironers 23 that follow one another at a small distance.
- the ironer bridge 28 can optionally also be heated. The items of laundry pass via this from the first flat ironer 23 to the subsequent second flat ironer 23.
- the first flat ironers 24, seen in the ironing direction 15, has an inlet side 29 at the beginning of the ironer trough 24 assigned to it.
- the respective item of laundry After running along the semicircular flat path 16 of the first flat ironer 23, the respective item of laundry reaches the outlet side 30 of the first flat ironer 23 and via the attached ironer bridge 28 to the inlet side 31 of the subsequent second flat ironer 23 Trough ironer 23 moved along and finished ironing and finally dried.
- the finished ironing and finally dried item of laundry leaves the second bowl ironer 23 via an outlet side 32.
- one item of laundry is fed to the inlet side 29, or, in the case of multi-lane operation, several items of laundry lying next to one another, preferably via an input machine.
- the ironed and finally dried items of laundry are processed further on the outlet side 323 of the last bowl ironer 23, preferably fed to a subsequent folding machine.
- the Fig. 3 shows a mangle, in particular a mangle line, which is formed from three successive individual mangles.
- a first bowl ironer 23 is followed by a belt ironer 10 and then a second bowl ironer 23.
- a first bowl ironer 23 is followed by a belt ironer 10 and then a second bowl ironer 23.
- a second bowl ironer 23 is followed by a belt ironer 10 and then a second bowl ironer 23.
- the same reference numerals are used for the flatwork ironers 23 as in FIG Fig. 2 used.
- the lack of ribbons 10 corresponds to that of Fig. 1 , which is why the reference numerals for the lack of tapes 10 Fig. 1 be used.
- first bowl ironer 23 At the beginning of the ironing line there is a first bowl ironer 23. This is followed by the belt ironer 10. The belt ironer 10 is followed by the second bowl ironer 23. The three successive ironers are linked by a connecting conveyor 34 between the first bowl ironer 23 and the belt ironer 10 and a further connecting conveyor 35 between the belt ironer 10 and the second bowl ironer 23.
- the entire flat path of the item of laundry is formed by the three successive ironers from the sum of the flat path 33 of the first hollow ironer 23, the flat path 16 of the band ironer 10 and finally the flat path 33 of the second hollow ironer 23.
- the respective item of laundry is first applied to the flat surface 27 of the first trough ironer 23 moved along, then on the flat surface 14, the ribbon ironer 10 and finally the second flat ironer 23 on the flattening surface 27.
- the method according to the invention is not only suitable for the three, for example, in the Figs. 1 to 3 shown different defects.
- a single bowl ironer 23 can be used instead of a single belt ironer 10. It is also possible to carry out the method with more than two consecutive flatwork ironers 23, the flatwork ironers not - as in the exemplary embodiment of FIG Fig. 2 - must be the same.
- the flatwork ironers 23 can also be designed differently. It is also conceivable to provide several successive ribbon mangles 10 instead of a single ribbon mangle 10.
- the method according to the invention is not based on the Fig. 3 shown only medium ribbon ironer 10 and two trough ironers 23 limited.
- medium ribbon ironer 10 and two trough ironers 23 can be used. It is also conceivable to use several ribbon ironers 10 and only one bowl ironer 23.
- the method according to the invention enables laundry items of different types to be mangled unsorted, that is to say in any order.
- the laundry items are sensitive laundry items and less sensitive laundry items up to insensitive laundry items.
- Sensitive items of laundry are those that have a thin fabric and / or are single-ply. Such items of laundry have a comparatively low residual moisture at the beginning of the ironing process and are therefore also lighter than the less sensitive and, above all, the insensitive items of laundry.
- Insensitive items of laundry are items made of a thicker fabric and, above all, multi-layer items of laundry.
- the method according to the invention now provides that all items of laundry are ironed at a temperature that is selected so that sensitive or lighter items of laundry are not overheated or even scorched.
- This ironing temperature is preferably lower and / or reduced compared to the higher ironing temperature, with which heavier, less sensitive items of laundry could be ironed.
- the lower ironing temperature preferably corresponds to the maximum permissible ironing temperature for sensitive, light items of laundry.
- the flattening path can preferably be larger than would be necessary for delicate items of laundry. Because of this longer flattening path, even less sensitive and even insensitive items of laundry can be smoothed and above all adequately dried at the end despite the reduced ironing temperature. Then although sensitive items of laundry have to go through a longer flattening path through the mangles than necessary; However, this does not have a disadvantageous effect on the sensitive items of laundry due to the reduction in the ironing temperature.
- the ironing speed can also be reduced so that insensitive and less sensitive items of laundry that have to be ironed longer because of the reduced ironing temperature are sufficiently dry after the ironing.
- the method according to the invention is preferably based on the idea of mangling items of laundry of the most varied types, that is to say unsorted, one after the other, in that the mangle temperature is reduced compared to the usual mangle temperatures; however, the flattening path is lengthened and / or the ironing speed is reduced.
- the reduced ironing temperature is such a temperature, the sensitive one Items of laundry are not impaired, even if the flattening path of these sensitive items of laundry is longer than would be necessary due to the mangle.
- the ironing temperature, which is reduced for sensitive items of laundry is preferably balanced or compensated for by a longer flattening path and / or a reduced ironing speed. This compensation takes place in such a way that even less sensitive (heavier) items of laundry are sufficiently dried at the end of the ironing process.
- the method according to the invention works with a reduced ironing temperature, which is in the range between 130 ° C and 170 ° C, preferably 140 ° C to 160 ° C. With this reduced ironing temperature, all items of laundry, namely sensitive, less sensitive and insensitive items, are ironed equally.
- the flat surfaces 27 of the two ironer troughs 24 likewise have a temperature between 130 ° C. and 170 ° C., in particular 140 ° C. to 160 ° C.
- the ironer trough 24 of the rear trough ironer 23 is less heated, so that its flat surface 27 has a temperature, for example, 10 ° C. to 20 ° C. lower than the flat surface 27 of the first flat ironer 23.
- ironers can be ironed with one or more ironer rollers 25 or ironer bodies 11 even with unsorted items of laundry, i.e. in any order of sensitive, less sensitive and insensitive items of laundry, with a constant, but reduced, ironing temperature. So that with constant ironing speed, but reduced ironing temperature, even less sensitive, heavier and also more moisture-containing items of laundry can be ironed adequately, in particular until reaching or preferably falling below the required maximum final moisture content, they are ironed over a longer flattening path 16 and / or 33.
- This entire flattening path in particular the flattening paths of all successive ironers, is greater than it is when the ironing temperature is not reduced, and so much greater that the reduced ironing temperature is compensated or compensated for, so that even less sensitive items of laundry have the ironer or the last one despite the low ironing temperature Leave the deficiency in a sufficiently dry state.

Description
The invention relates to a method for ironing items of laundry according to the preamble of claim 1.
Items of laundry, especially so-called flat linen such as table linen and one or two-ply bed linen, are ironed after washing. In the process, the items of laundry that still have residual moisture are finally dried and smoothed.
The laundry items are mangled in at least one mangle. In commercial laundries, ironing often takes place with several successive ironers. The ironers are preferably connected or chained to one another by so-called bridges, so that the items of laundry pass through the successive ironers one after the other. The mangle can also be done with a mangle that has several successive mangle rollers. These are so-called multi-roller ironers.
Several successive ironers or multi-trough ironers are used to increase the ironing capacity, because this lengthens the flattening path of the items of laundry. As a result, more energy, namely thermal energy, can be supplied to the items of laundry when ironing, thereby increasing the speed of the ironing machine. It can also provide mangles with a relatively long flattening path by a single ironer roller having a relatively large diameter, which can be greater than 2 m.
Die Mangeltemperaturen von unempfindlichen und empfindlichen Wäschestücken liegen bislang im Bereich von 175°C bis 195°C.The flat surfaces are heated to a greater or lesser extent depending on the type of item of laundry, in particular its type of fabric (synthetic and / or natural fibers), its fabric thickness and / or the number of layers. Sensitive items of laundry, especially lighter, thin, single-layer items of laundry, are ironed at a lower ironing temperature so that they do not scorch when ironing. In contrast, insensitive items of laundry, that is, heavier items of laundry that have a thick fabric and / or have two layers, can be ironed at higher ironing temperatures. The ironing temperatures of insensitive and sensitive items of laundry have so far been in the range of 175 ° C to 195 ° C.
The ironing of the laundry items with the maximum ironing temperature for the respective laundry item type requires a prior sorting of the laundry items into sensitive and insensitive laundry items or also those that have a medium sensitivity.

The invention is based on the object of creating a method for ironing items of laundry which allows unsorted items of laundry to be mangled without the risk of overheating of sensitive items of laundry and inadequate final drying of insensitive items of laundry.
A method for solving this problem has the measures of claim 1. Accordingly, it is provided that the respective ironer or ironers are heated in such a way that their flat surface or flat surfaces have a temperature which corresponds to the maximum permissible ironing temperature of the most sensitive items of laundry to be deficient. The most sensitive items of laundry are mainly single-layer items and items with a thin fabric, such as bedsheets or tablecloths. By ironing with a ironing temperature that corresponds to that of the most sensitive items of laundry, it is avoided that these are not overheated during the ironing process, in particular in front of the run-out area of the ironer at the last ironer. Such overheating occurs when the ironing temperature is too high, as the sensitive items of laundry are sufficiently dry before the outlet area of the single or the last ironer and the ironer or the last ironer becomes one along the remainder of the ironing path to the outlet area Overheating of the sensitive items of laundry occurs, which in the worst case can lead to scorching of the sensitive or most sensitive items of laundry.
The method is further developed in such a way that the mangle or mangles together have a preferably elongated flat surface which is sufficient to sufficiently dry even less sensitive items of laundry and / or thicker items of laundry in which even more moisture is bound and / or items of laundry that allow a higher mangle temperature sufficiently smooth. Then both less sensitive (less bound moisture exhibiting) items of laundry and less sensitive (more moisture exhibiting) items of laundry with an ironing temperature adapted to sensitive laundry items and / or a reduced ironing temperature in the case of ironers can also be dried sufficiently.
In order to be able to dry more insensitive, heavier and / or more moisture-containing laundry items during the ironing process when the ironing temperature is adapted to, in particular reduced, the ironing temperature, provision is made as an alternative or in addition to lengthening the ironing path to reduce the ironing speed. In particular, the ironing speed is reduced to such an extent that the reduced, above all reduced, ironing temperature is compensated for by a longer dwell time of the items of laundry in the ironing machine.
The method according to the invention enables unsorted laundry, both more sensitive laundry items containing less residual moisture and less sensitive laundry items containing more residual moisture, to be mixed up, i.e. in any sequence, without damage to more sensitive laundry items occurring and less sensitive laundry items not being dried sufficiently.
According to the method according to the invention, provision is preferably made for the ironing temperature to be reduced to the maximum permissible ironing temperature for sensitive items of laundry. The maximum permissible mangle temperature is such a temperature that causes laundry items to not be heated above a maximum permissible temperature at the end of the mangling process, i.e. in the run-out area of the single mangle or the last mangle. This maximum permissible mangle temperature therefore corresponds to the temperature to which the laundry items to be deficient are heated to the maximum will. As a rule, the missing items of laundry reach this maximum temperature at the end of the flattening path. By reducing the ironing temperature depending on the most sensitive items of laundry to be lacking, it is avoided that none of the unsorted, jumbled items of laundry are ironed out from being overheated.
Provision is preferably made for the ironer or ironers to be operated at the same ironing speed when ironing more moist (less sensitive) items of laundry on the one hand and when ironing less moist (more sensitive) items of laundry on the other. As a result, different items of laundry can be ironed in a mixed manner without having to change and adapt the ironing speed. The ironing speed is always kept constant. It is therefore also not necessary to know the type of laundry item entering the mangle or the first mangle and then to individually set the ironing speed and / or temperature of the ironing device required for the laundry item in question.
As a result of the reduced ironing temperature, delicate items of laundry cannot be overheated. Only sensitive items of laundry remain in the ironer longer than necessary. This supposed disadvantage is, however, more than compensated for by the fact that the method according to the invention does not require the prior sorting of the laundry items before the defect. The advantage of slowing down the ironing speed is that no longer flattening path is required. As a result of the reduction in the ironing speed and the reduced ironing temperature, no longer flattening paths are required, so that the method according to the invention could be carried out with unchanged ironers.
It is preferred to choose the ironing temperature of the single ironer or several successive ironers so that sensitive (drier) items of laundry at the end of the flattening path, especially in the outlet area, have been heated up to their maximum allowable ironing temperature. In contrast, less sensitive (moist) items of laundry are only heated to a temperature below the maximum permissible ironing temperature up to the outlet area. So that such moist items of laundry are nevertheless sufficiently dried at the end, the peeling path is due to the mangle or the mangles for longer than would be necessary to iron damper items of laundry at the maximum permissible temperature. In this way, less sensitive items of laundry, from which more moisture has to be removed during the ironing process, are ironed over a longer flattening path so that they have a maximum permissible or desired residual moisture when leaving the ironer or ironers. This means that the lower ironing temperature is compensated for by a longer flattening path, especially with less sensitive (heavier or more humid) items of laundry. As an alternative or in addition, the above-mentioned compensation for the reduced ironing temperature can also be brought about by an appropriately reduced ironing speed.
It is preferably provided that the laundry items with at least one ironer are ironed at a reduced ironing temperature of between 130 ° C. and 170 ° C., in particular between 140 ° C. and 160 ° C. It is preferably provided that the ironing temperature of all successive ironers is in the range from 130.degree. C. to 170.degree. C., in particular 104.degree. C. to 160.degree.
It can also be provided that the ironing temperature of all successive ironers is approximately the same.
Another embodiment of the method provides that the ironing temperatures of some or all of the successive ironers are different, in that they preferably decrease from the first to the last ironer, viewed in the ironing direction. The different ironing temperatures of all ironing machines are in the range from 130 ° C to 170 ° C, especially 140 ° C to 160 ° C. This procedure brings about a relatively rapid warming up of the items of laundry to be deficient at the beginning of a mangle line consisting of several successive mangers. The temperature gradient of the ironing temperature, which decreases in the direction of the ironing, is selected so that the higher temperature of the first ironing does not excessively heat sensitive items of laundry.
In a preferred embodiment of the method, provision is made to use successive mangles of the same type, preferably mangles of the same type and of the same size in succession. This reduces the variety of types of mangles for carrying out the method according to the invention.
In terms of the process, it is possible to form all successive mangles from troughed mangles or ribbon mangles. Alternatively, the mangles can also be formed from a succession of trough ironers and strip ironers in any order. The use of flatwork ironers as well as ribbon ironers can be advantageous if a certain finish of the laundry items, in particular a double-sided finish of the same, is desired.

The method according to the invention is described below using the example of a method according to FIG
The method according to the invention enables laundry items of different types to be mangled unsorted, that is to say in any order. The laundry items are sensitive laundry items and less sensitive laundry items up to insensitive laundry items. Sensitive items of laundry are those that have a thin fabric and / or are single-ply. Such items of laundry have a comparatively low residual moisture at the beginning of the ironing process and are therefore also lighter than the less sensitive and, above all, the insensitive items of laundry. Insensitive items of laundry are items made of a thicker fabric and, above all, multi-layer items of laundry. These contain more residual moisture than items of laundry made from thin, single-layer fabrics and are therefore heavier. Less sensitive items of laundry are, for example, those that are indeed single-layered, but consist of a thicker fabric that has a greater volume of moisture before ironing than slightly sensitive items of laundry.
It is predominantly the case that with increasing sensitivity of the laundry items, the volume of the residual moisture contained therein decreases. As a result, more sensitive items of laundry can also be dried more quickly during the ironing process than insensitive items of laundry.
The method according to the invention now provides that all items of laundry are ironed at a temperature that is selected so that sensitive or lighter items of laundry are not overheated or even scorched. This ironing temperature is preferably lower and / or reduced compared to the higher ironing temperature, with which heavier, less sensitive items of laundry could be ironed. The lower ironing temperature preferably corresponds to the maximum permissible ironing temperature for sensitive, light items of laundry.
The flattening path can preferably be larger than would be necessary for delicate items of laundry.
Alternatively, instead of increasing the flattening path when the ironer is operated at a reduced ironing temperature, the ironing speed can also be reduced so that insensitive and less sensitive items of laundry that have to be ironed longer because of the reduced ironing temperature are sufficiently dry after the ironing.
It is also conceivable to both increase the flattening path and to reduce the ironing speed in order to dry the heavier, and above all less sensitive, items of laundry sufficiently when ironing due to the reduced ironing temperature, which is adapted to the lighter, more sensitive items of laundry.
The method according to the invention is preferably based on the idea of mangling items of laundry of the most varied types, that is to say unsorted, one after the other, in that the mangle temperature is reduced compared to the usual mangle temperatures; however, the flattening path is lengthened and / or the ironing speed is reduced. The reduced ironing temperature is such a temperature, the sensitive one Items of laundry are not impaired, even if the flattening path of these sensitive items of laundry is longer than would be necessary due to the mangle. The ironing temperature, which is reduced for sensitive items of laundry, is preferably balanced or compensated for by a longer flattening path and / or a reduced ironing speed. This compensation takes place in such a way that even less sensitive (heavier) items of laundry are sufficiently dried at the end of the ironing process.
Due to the method according to the invention, ironers can be ironed with one or
The above applies analogously to the alternative reduction in the ironing speed in order to be able to dry insensitive (heavier) items of laundry sufficiently when ironing with a reduced ironing temperature, but also a combination of a longer flattening path and reduced ironing speed.
The above procedural principles apply not only to the

- Method according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the ironing temperature of the ironer or of the ironers is selected such that sensitive laundry items at the end of the ironing path (16, 33), in particular in the exit region of the ironer or of the final ironer, have been heated at most up to their maximum admissible ironing temperature and, as they pass to the exit region of the ironer or of the final ironer, non-sensitive laundry items are heated to merely a temperature below the maximum admissible ironing temperature, but their ironing path (16, 33) through the ironer or the ironers is longer or the ironing speed is lower than would have been necessary for ironing at a maximum admissible ironing temperature.
- Method according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the laundry items are ironed by at least one ironer at an ironing temperature between 130°C and 170°C, preferably at an ironing temperature of 140°C to 160°C.
- Method according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the laundry items are ironed by two or more successive ironers, wherein the ironing path (16, 33) of the laundry items is the sum of the ironing paths (16, 33) along the ironing surfaces (14, 27) of all the successive ironers.
- Method according to Claim 5, characterized in that the ironing temperature of the successive ironers, in particular all the successive ironers, ranges from 130°C to 170°C, in particular 140°C to 160°C.
- Method according to Claim 5 or 6, characterized in that the ironing temperatures of the, in particular of all the, successive ironers are identical or at least approximately identical.
- Method according to Claim 5, characterized in that the ironing temperatures of some or all of the successive ironers are different, and preferably decrease from the first ironer to the final ironer, as seen in the ironing direction (15), wherein all the different ironing temperatures range from 130°C to 170°C, in particular 140°C to 160°C.
- Method according to one of Claims 5 to 8, characterized in that use is made of similar successive ironers, preferably similar and equal-sized ironers, and/or all the successive ironers are chest-heated ironers (23) and/or belt ironers (10).
