Definitions
- the present invention relates to a shower tray for installation on two vertical, substantially perpendicular to each other, together forming a corner, with horizontal joints separated tiles clad walls, with a flat, one-piece plate member having a bottom, a top surface forming a shelf , which defines a plate thickness together with the underside, and at least three front sides connecting the plate underside and the plate top side, two of which extend perpendicular to one another.
- Such shower trays which are used in the shower as a shelf for shower gel, shampoo or the like, are known in the prior art in different configurations. They are usually made of bent sheet metal from a stainless material and have a flat, integrally formed plate member having a bottom, a shelf forming the top surface and at least three end faces, of which at least two end faces extend perpendicular to each other.
- a flat, integrally formed plate member having a bottom, a shelf forming the top surface and at least three end faces, of which at least two end faces extend perpendicular to each other.
- the tile abutment surfaces of the flanges can then be bonded to the tiles using an adhesive, especially a silicone based adhesive.
- the attachment can also be made using screws which are guided through holes provided in the flanges and pegged in the wall.
- the latter variant is disadvantageous if a surface seal is provided between the wall and the tiles, since these are damaged by the screws.
- Another Possibility is to provide the flanges with a plurality of openings, as for example in the DE 10 2012 015 574 A1 is described. In this case, when the walls are being tiled, the shower tray is positioned between stacked tiles in such a way that the plate element of the shower tray is arranged in the region of the horizontal joints separating the tiles. This type of shower tray attachment has the significant advantage that it is very stable.
- a drawback is that attaching the shower tray to already tiled walls is only possible by removing the tiles above and below the position where the shower tray is to be attached. This is on the one hand associated with a lot of effort. On the other hand, the tiles can be easily damaged during removal, so that appropriate replacement must be present.
- the present invention provides a shower tray of the type mentioned, which is characterized in that on the two mutually perpendicular end faces outwardly projecting fastening projections are provided, and that the maximum total height of the shower tray corresponds to the maximum plate thickness.
- it is proposed to replace the aforesaid flanges extending perpendicularly to the plate element by outwardly projecting fastening projections which do not project beyond the planes defined by the underside and the upper side of the plate element.
- Such fastening projections are compared to the known flanges on the one hand to the advantage that only little material is needed to form the fastening projections.
- the plate thickness can be chosen freely, since for the production of the invention Shower shelf no bending work is required. Accordingly, the shower tray according to the invention can be given a very high quality design by a comparatively large plate thickness. Yet another advantage is that the shower tray according to the invention can be installed both in the context of tile laying and subsequently. In the former case, the fastening projections need only be pressed into the not yet hardened joint mortar. After hardening the grout, the shower tray is then securely held to the walls. For subsequent installation, only the grout in the installation area of the shower tray needs to be removed. This can then be replaced by new joint mortar or even by a silicone compound or the like in order to insert the projections of the shower tray and fasten.
- the height of the fastening projections is preferably in the range of 0.7 to 2.5 mm and is thus selected such that the fastening projections can be used in conventional joint widths.
- the height of the projections is less than the plate thickness, wherein the plate thickness is preferably in the range of 3 to 6 mm.
- a plate thickness in said plate thickness range leads to a very high quality appearance of the shower tray according to the invention.
- a plurality of fastening projections are provided on at least one end face, whereby a better hold of the shower tray is achieved in the region of a joint.
- the attachment projections provided in each case on one end side are arranged offset in the direction of the plate thickness in such a way that that when inserting the fastening projections in spaced on the walls of tiles separating from each other, horizontally extending joints adjusts a predetermined slope of the top of the plate member to the horizontal. Accordingly, accumulating water can drain on the top of the plate element in the assembled state of the shower tray.
- the two mutually perpendicular end faces are connected to each other via a further end face, whose length is at least 20 mm. Thanks to this further front side, an opening is created between the tiles and the shower shelf in the corner area. On the one hand, water can flow out through this opening. On the other hand, such an opening facilitates the cleaning of tiles and shower tray in the corner.
- the plate member made of stainless steel or aluminum.
- it can be cut out of a corresponding metal plate and subsequently finished by material-removing processes.
- the present invention proposes to use a shower tray according to the invention such that all fastening projections of the plate element in tiles from each other, horizontally extending joints are used, which meet at right angles to each other.
- FIG. 1 shows a shower tray 1 according to a first embodiment of the present invention.
- the shower tray 1 comprises a plate element 2 with a bottom 3, a shelf 4 forming a top surface, which defines a plate thickness S together with the bottom, and present four the top side 2 and the bottom plate 3 interconnecting end faces 5, 6, 7 and 8, wherein the end faces 5 and 6 extend perpendicular to each other.
- the plate element 2 is in one piece from a Made of aluminum or stainless steel plate.
- the plate thickness S is preferably in the range of 3 to 6 mm. It is present constant and thus corresponds to the maximum height H max of the shower tray 1.
- the plate member 2 is provided with a plurality of extending from the bottom 3 to the top 4 through holes 9, which in the present case for optical reasons each have the shape of a circular arc segment. Alternatively, however, the passage openings 9 can also have any other shape.
- the plate member 2 has at the two mutually perpendicular end faces 5 and 6 mounting projections 10 which extend outwardly and are arranged in the region of the underside 3 and the top 4 spanned planes, so do not project up or down on this.
- the fastening projections 10 have a depth t in the range of 3 to 10 mm, preferably between 4 and 8 mm, and a height h in the range of 0.7 to 2.5 mm, and are substantially cuboid.
- two fastening projections 10 are provided on the end face 5, which are each arranged in the end regions of the end face 5.
- the end face 6 has only a single fastening projections 10, which is arranged in the end region of the end face 6 adjacent to the end face 7.
- the number of fastening projections 10 as well as their length and / or shape may vary as needed.
- the height h of the fastening projections 10 is less than the plate thickness S.
- a predetermined slope of the top 4 of the plate member 2 is set to the horizontal during installation of the shower tray 1, as further discussed below becomes.
- the two mutually perpendicular end faces 5 and 6 may be connected to each other via a further end face 11, whose length I is preferably at least 20 mm. This further end face 11 is in FIG. 1 represented by a dashed line.
- the shower tray 1 To install the shower tray 1 on two vertical, substantially perpendicular to each other, together forming a corner 12, with by horizontal and vertical joints 13 separate tiles 14 clad walls 15 and 16, the tiles 14 in a first step in a known manner attached to the walls 15 and 16, for example using a thin-bed mortar. Between the walls 15 and 16 and the tiles 14 a presently not shown surface seal should be installed in advance. In a further step, the joints 13 are grouted with a joint mortar. Immediately after grouting the fastening projections 10 of the shower tray 1 are pressed at the desired height in a over the corner region extending horizontal joint 13. When hardening the grout, the shower tray is securely attached to the walls 15 and 16.
- FIGS. 5 to 7 show a shower tray 1 according to a second embodiment of the present invention.
- the plate element 2 has a different shape and consequently five end faces 5, 6, 7, 8 and 18.
- the end faces 5 and 6 extend perpendicular to each other and are each provided with two fastening projections 10 which are all arranged in the direction of the plate thickness S at a uniform level. Accordingly, when installing the shower tray 1, a gradient with respect to the horizontal does not automatically occur.
- Another difference is that number and shape of the through holes 9 are chosen differently.

Description
The present invention relates to a shower tray for installation on two vertical, substantially perpendicular to each other, together forming a corner, with horizontal joints separated tiles clad walls, with a flat, one-piece plate member having a bottom, a top surface forming a shelf , which defines a plate thickness together with the underside, and at least three front sides connecting the plate underside and the plate top side, two of which extend perpendicular to one another.
Based on this prior art, it is an object of the present invention to provide a shower tray of alternative construction.
To achieve this object, the present invention provides a shower tray of the type mentioned, which is characterized in that on the two mutually perpendicular end faces outwardly projecting fastening projections are provided, and that the maximum total height of the shower tray corresponds to the maximum plate thickness. In other words, it is proposed to replace the aforesaid flanges extending perpendicularly to the plate element by outwardly projecting fastening projections which do not project beyond the planes defined by the underside and the upper side of the plate element. Such fastening projections are compared to the known flanges on the one hand to the advantage that only little material is needed to form the fastening projections. On the other hand, the plate thickness can be chosen freely, since for the production of the invention Shower shelf no bending work is required.
The height of the fastening projections is preferably in the range of 0.7 to 2.5 mm and is thus selected such that the fastening projections can be used in conventional joint widths.
According to an embodiment of the present invention, the height of the projections is less than the plate thickness, wherein the plate thickness is preferably in the range of 3 to 6 mm. A plate thickness in said plate thickness range leads to a very high quality appearance of the shower tray according to the invention.
Preferably, a plurality of fastening projections are provided on at least one end face, whereby a better hold of the shower tray is achieved in the region of a joint.
Advantageously, the attachment projections provided in each case on one end side are arranged offset in the direction of the plate thickness in such a way that that when inserting the fastening projections in spaced on the walls of tiles separating from each other, horizontally extending joints adjusts a predetermined slope of the top of the plate member to the horizontal. Accordingly, accumulating water can drain on the top of the plate element in the assembled state of the shower tray.
According to one embodiment of the present invention, the two mutually perpendicular end faces are connected to each other via a further end face, whose length is at least 20 mm. Thanks to this further front side, an opening is created between the tiles and the shower shelf in the corner area. On the one hand, water can flow out through this opening. On the other hand, such an opening facilitates the cleaning of tiles and shower tray in the corner.
Advantageously, the plate member made of stainless steel or aluminum. For example, it can be cut out of a corresponding metal plate and subsequently finished by material-removing processes.
Furthermore, the present invention proposes to use a shower tray according to the invention such that all fastening projections of the plate element in tiles from each other, horizontally extending joints are used, which meet at right angles to each other.

To install the shower tray 1 on two vertical, substantially perpendicular to each other, together forming a corner 12, with by horizontal and
