Definitions
- the invention relates to a flexible bag with an inner compartment for receiving a hot and / or burning object, the pocket being rollable and / or foldable, and the pocket having an opening for inserting the object into the inner compartment of the pocket.
- the batteries store large amounts of energy. If there is an uncontrolled and accelerated release of the chemically stored energy due to technical defects or improper handling, this is usually done as thermal energy. This inevitably leads to a short circuit and consequently to a fire.
- Lithium cells are usually sealed gas-tight, so that no ingredients can escape during normal operation. However, if the housing is mechanically damaged or if there is a thermal load as a result of a fire, various caustic, toxic and carcinogenic substances as well as combustible substances (dust, gas or liquid) can escape.
- a further danger of lithium metal arises in particular when it comes into contact with water, for example extinguishing water. This can lead to the formation of hydrogen gas, which can be ignited as a gas mixture with air in a very wide mixture ratio and also requires very little ignition energy.
- transition metals and fluorine and / or phosphorus-containing compounds are often used in secondary batteries, which can lead to harmful or toxic reaction products in the event of fire, which pose a considerable risk to people and the environment in the event of fire smoke.
- common sizes e.g. Laptop, come to a critical hazard from hydrogen fluoride.
- a bag for holding burning or smoking objects is known.
- the bag has an outer compartment to hold a fire extinguisher.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to develop a device and a method for extinguishing burning or hot objects.
- fires from electronic devices should be extinguished quickly and efficiently.
- a flexible bag with an inner compartment for receiving a hot and / or burning object, the pocket being rollable and / or foldable, and the pocket having an opening for inserting the object into the inner compartment of the pocket, wherein on the third of the pocket opposite the opening, an externally accessible outer compartment is provided, in which a fire extinguisher for accommodating and dispensing a fire extinguishing agent is accommodated, characterized in that the part of the pocket on which the outer compartment is provided can be detached, in particular by means of a Velcro connection, connected to the rest of the bag.
- the bag is flexible and can be rolled up or folded to a small packaging size.
- the upper part of the bag has an opening through which the object can be brought into the inside of the bag, that is to say the inner compartment of the bag.
- the outer compartment for receiving the fire extinguisher is located at the end of the bag opposite the opening.
- the upper half of the pocket should be the half in which the opening is located, in order to simplify the description. Accordingly, the terms “lower end”, “lower third” and so on denote the corresponding partial areas located in the other half of the pocket.
- the length of the pocket is its expansion from top to bottom, i.e. In the longitudinal direction.
- the width and thickness (hereinafter also referred to as depth) of the pocket denote its expansion in the two directions perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.
- the outer compartment for the fire extinguisher is located in the lower third of the bag.
- the outer compartment is preferably designed such that the fire extinguisher or fire extinguishers are arranged in the direction of the width of the pocket after being introduced into the outer compartment.
- the bag is advantageously rolled up from the lower end around the fire extinguisher or fire extinguishers located in the outer compartment. After rolling up, the upper end of the bag is on the outside, the lower end of the bag on the inside in the center of the roll formed in this way. On the one hand, this has the advantage that the bag can be kept small and space-saving. This is particularly advantageous in vehicles, such as in a motor vehicle, or on board an aircraft.
- the bag can be unrolled quickly when in use. The bag only has to be held at its upper end, that is to say at the outer end of the roll. Due to gravity, the bag is automatically unrolled due to the fire extinguisher located in the lower area of the bag, so that it can be used quickly.
- the fire extinguisher is housed in an external compartment that is accessible from the outside.
- the bag can be gripped and unrolled with one hand at the top and the fire extinguisher can be activated with the other hand.
- a burning object can be deleted very quickly in this way.
- the fire extinguisher can be removed from the outer compartment and the fire extinguishing agent in the fire extinguisher can be dispensed.
- the fire extinguisher may also remain in the outer compartment during the dispensing of the fire extinguishing agent.
- the outer compartment for the fire extinguisher is provided in the lower area of the bag.
- the outer compartment is preferably designed such that the longitudinal axis of the fire extinguisher is oriented essentially parallel to the lower end of the pocket in the outer compartment. This has the advantage that the fire extinguisher rotates about its longitudinal axis when the bag is unrolled, but remains in the outer compartment.
- the pocket comprises an upper part and a lower part, which are detachably connected to one another.
- the inner compartment of the bag, into which the hot object can or should be placed, extends only over the upper part of the bag.
- the outer compartment is provided on the lower part of the bag.
- the upper and lower parts of the bag are detachably connected to each other so that the lower part of the bag can be separated from the upper part. This has the advantage that after the hot object has been introduced into the pocket and the lower part has been removed, the upper part and, owing to the then smaller volume, can be stowed better.
- the detachable connection between the upper and the lower part is preferably made by means of a Velcro fastener.
- At least the upper part of the bag with the inner compartment, which serves to hold the hot object, is advantageously made of a fire-retardant or flame-retardant material.
- the fire retardant or flame retardant material can withstand temperatures up to 500 ° C, 800 ° C or 1000 ° C for a period of 60 minutes, 90 minutes or 120 minutes.
- a glass fiber fabric in particular an E-glass fabric, is used for this.
- the glass fiber fabric can additionally be reinforced with metallic fibers.
- a special coating on the fabric means that heat resistance to these high temperatures can be achieved.
- This coating is also extremely abrasion-resistant, which gives the bag a correspondingly long service life.
- the seams are preferably made of a special aramid fiber with metal reinforcement (Kevlar / Twaron and stainless steel)
- the lower part which can be separated from the rest of the bag, can also be made of a fire-retardant or flame-retardant material. However, this is not absolutely necessary, since the lower part is separated after the hot object has been introduced into the inner compartment and thus does not come into contact with it. It is of course also possible to manufacture the lower, removable part from flame-retardant material.
- the bag On the outside of the bag there is an outer compartment in which a fire extinguisher is housed. If an object catches fire, the fire is first extinguished using the fire extinguisher and then the extinguished object is placed in the inner compartment of the bag and stowed away in a fire-proof manner. A further spread of the fire can be prevented safely and effectively.
- a handle or a handle opening in the upper region preferably in the upper third or fifth, or at the upper end of the bag, in order to be able to grip and hold the bag quickly, easily and safely.
- a handle can be provided at the upper end of the bag as with a shopping bag.
- one or two side surfaces of the bag can also be provided with a handle opening in the upper region.
- a burning object can be extinguished using the fire extinguisher located in the outer compartment of the bag.
- the object can then be placed in the pocket.
- the bag advantageously has a Velcro fastener, so that the opening of the inner compartment can be closed after the object has been inserted. This prevents further spread of fire. It also prevents toxic gases from escaping from the inner compartment.
- the inner compartment of the bag is preferably closed by means of a Velcro fastener.
- a roll-and-loop fastener is particularly preferably used. That means the bag is first from the top a piece rolled down and the rolled piece is then attached to the bag with a Velcro fastener.
- the roll Velcro fastener has the advantage of being particularly tight against gas leakage and also being an effective heat seal.
- the bag according to the invention is particularly suitable for controlling burning or smoldering electronic devices, in particular communication and / or data processing devices, such as, for example, mobile telephones, smartphones or portable computers, such as notebooks or tablets. Electric or electronic cigarettes caught on fire can also be extinguished with the bag according to the invention.
- the size of the inner compartment of the bag is advantageously matched to the size of the objects to be potentially deleted.
- a pocket with a capacity between 1 l and 40 l, preferably between 2 l and 20 l is particularly suitable for accommodating the above-mentioned electronic devices.
- the pocket is essentially rectangular or cuboid.
- the inner compartment has dimensions of, for example, 60 cm x 40 cm x 6 cm or 50 cm x 35 cm x 5 cm.
- the interior compartment is preferably so large that a portable computer with a screen size of 17 inches, i.e. With dimensions of about 30 cm x 42 cm x 4 cm, it can be easily inserted into the inner compartment.
- the extension of the inner compartment is preferably between 40 cm and 60 cm in a first direction, preferably between 25 cm and 40 cm in a second direction perpendicular thereto and preferably between 1 cm and 10 in the third direction perpendicular to this cm.
- the bag has one or two compartments for one or two fire extinguishers.
- a fire extinguisher can be used to roughly extinguish a burning device, for example a laptop or a cell phone. The deleted device is then placed in your pocket. In some cases, the devices have to be deleted again. In this case, the second fire extinguisher is sprayed into the inside of the bag again in order to extinguish the fire completely and then stow the device in a fire-safe manner in the bag.
- the presence of two fire extinguishers also increases the reliability of the bag. Even if one of the fire extinguishers doesn't work, the fire can be extinguished with the other fire extinguisher. This enables the fastest possible fire fighting. This is essential, for example, in the event of a fire in an aircraft.
- the bag has, in one embodiment, in addition to the already described compartment for the fire extinguisher in the lower pocket area, another compartment for receiving a second fire extinguisher.
- the compartments i.e. the outer compartment for the first fire extinguisher and the compartment for the further fire extinguisher must be arranged one above the other so that the compartments are next to each other from bottom to top.
- the subjects can also be provided next to each other. "Overlapping" is intended to denote the direction from bottom to top and "alongside" the direction perpendicular to it.
- the compartments can also be arranged offset to one another, that is to say partly above and partly next to one another.
- the deleted or pre-deleted device should be put in your pocket for fire-safe storage.
- fireproof gloves and / or protective glasses are advantageously provided in the bag.
- the fireproof gloves and / or protective glasses are preferably wrapped in the bag so that they can be gripped immediately when the bag is unrolled.
- one or more tabs are provided, which serve to close the outer compartment or the outer compartments.
- the tab holds the fire extinguisher (s) securely in the outer compartment so that they do not fall out.
- the gloves can be clamped under the tab (s) or held in place using the tab (s).
- the fire extinguisher or at least one of the fire extinguishers preferably does not contain any propellant gas or compressed air as the propellant, but rather is provided with an elastomeric force body or an elastic filling bladder, in particular a silicone rubber or filling bladder Silicone rubber, provided.
- This type of fire extinguisher has the advantage that the fire extinguisher only has a low pressure of less than 5 bar, less than 3 bar or a maximum of 2 bar, which means that there is no risk of explosion. The fire extinguisher does not explode, even if it is damaged.
- due to the lack of propellant gas such a fire extinguisher does not release any aerosols or other flammable or hazardous substances.
- the fire extinguisher does not have to be as pressure-resistant and massive as fire extinguishers filled with propellant.
- the fire extinguisher can be made of aluminum or plastic instead of steel, which significantly reduces the weight.
- the bag is provided with a data carrier on which data from the bag and / or the fire extinguisher can be stored and read out.
- a data carrier is preferably provided which allows the data to be stored and / or read out without contact and without visual contact.
- RFID transponder or RFID chip can be used for this.
- the date of manufacture and the serial number of the fire extinguisher and / or the pocket as well as their respective manufacturer and / or the expiry date of the fire extinguisher are advantageously stored on the data carrier.
- fire extinguishers must be replaced at regular intervals, for example every 3 years. This is made considerably easier by the provision of such a data carrier.
- the invention is preferably used to extinguish portable electronic devices that have caught fire. These devices are usually powered by accumulators and in particular by means of lithium-ion accumulators. A burning lithium-ion battery should not be extinguished with water.
- the fire extinguisher or fire extinguishers are therefore advantageously filled with a special extinguishing agent for lithium ion batteries, in particular an extinguishing agent for lithium manganese batteries, lithium polymer batteries, lithium titanate batteries, lithium iron phosphate batteries and other lithium ions containing designs.
- the bag is preferably used in motor vehicles and on board aircraft and is used to extinguish hot and / or burning objects, in particular electronic communication and / or Data processing equipment such as portable telephones and portable computers.
- all materials used for the bag are certified for aviation and in particular correspond to the regulations of the EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) and / or the regulations of the US Federal Aviation Regulations FAR (Federal Aviation Regulations).
- the bag is preferably used to hold objects, in particular electrical or electronic devices, which contain an accumulator based on lithium compounds, in particular a lithium-manganese accumulator, a lithium-polymer accumulator, a lithium-titanate accumulator, a lithium iron phosphate battery or another type containing lithium ions.
- an accumulator based on lithium compounds in particular a lithium-manganese accumulator, a lithium-polymer accumulator, a lithium-titanate accumulator, a lithium iron phosphate battery or another type containing lithium ions.
- FIGS. 1 and 2 show a bag according to the invention, which is particularly suitable for use on board aircraft.
- the bag is made of a fire-retardant or flame-retardant, flexible material, so that the bag is easy to roll and / or fold.
- the pocket comprises an upper area 1, a central area 2 and a lower area 3a, 3b.
- the central region 2 has a front part 4, a back part 5 and side parts 6.
- the front part 4, the back part 5 and the side parts 6 are connected to one another in such a way that they form an inner compartment. It is also possible to dispense with the side parts 6 and to connect the front part 4 and the back part 5 directly to one another.
- a tubular structure is used instead of separate front, back and side parts.
- a slot-shaped opening 7 is provided in the upper region of the front part 4 and extends over more than 80%, preferably more than 90%, of the width of the front part 4.
- the opening 7 enables the insertion of an object 18 into the inner compartment of the bag.
- a Velcro strip 8a is attached below the opening 7 and runs parallel to the opening 7 and over its entire length.
- a corresponding Velcro strip 8b, which forms a releasable Velcro fastener together with the Velcro strip 8a, is located above the opening 7. If the two Velcro strips 8a, 8b are brought together, they connect reversibly and close the opening 7.
- a handle opening 9 is also incorporated in the upper region 1.
- a handle or a tab can also be provided, which is attached to the upper region 1 or directly to the central region 2. In the latter case, the upper area can also be omitted.
- compartments 3a, 3b are provided in the lower area 3a, 3b of the pocket, which each hold an essentially cylindrical fire extinguisher 10a, 10b.
- the compartments 3a, 3b are arranged one below the other and each extend in the transverse direction, that is to say perpendicularly to the connecting line between the upper region 1 and the lower region 3a, 3b (longitudinal direction).
- the compartments 3a, 3b are shorter than the fire extinguishers 10a, 10b which are inserted into the compartments 3a, 3b, so that the fire extinguishers 10a, 10b protrude somewhat from the compartments 3a, 3b and can be gripped and removed quickly.
- the bag can be seen rolled up.
- the pocket is rolled up so that the fire extinguishers 10a, 10b are on the inside and the middle area 2 is wrapped around the fire extinguishers 10a, 10b.
- the upper area 1 with the handle opening 9 is on the outside.
- Protective gloves 11 and protective glasses 12 are also rolled into the bag.
- the bag is kept, for example, on board an aircraft in the passenger compartment. Should an electronic device of a passenger, for example a notebook or a smartphone, catch fire, the bag is taken at the handle opening 9, whereby the bag automatically rolls up. This is caused by the force of gravity acting on the fire extinguishers 10a, 10b located in the compartments 3a, 3b.
- the protective gloves 11 and the protective glasses 12 fall out and can be put on or put on by the user.
- the user then removes one of the fire extinguishers 10a and thus extinguishes the burning device 18.
- the extinguished device 18 is placed in the pocket through the opening 7. If the device 18 has started to burn again, extinguishing agent can be sprayed into the pocket with the fire extinguisher 10a or with the second fire extinguisher 10b. Then the two Velcro strips 8a, 8b are brought together and the opening 7 of the pocket is closed. In this way, the device 18 is kept fire-proof.
- the execution after Figure 4 differs from that after Figures 1 to 3 in that the opening 14 of the pocket is at its upper end.
- the inside of the bag is directly accessible from above.
- one or two handle handles 13 are provided.
- one of the handle handles 13 is fastened to the front part 4 and the other handle handle 13 to the rear part.
- the opening 14 of the bag opens, so that an object 18 can easily be placed in the inner compartment of the bag.
- the bag has no handle. All other elements of the bag according to the in the Figures 1 to 3 shown bag.
- the bag according to Figure 4 is rolled up in an analogous manner and, if necessary, unrolled and used as above using the Figures 1 to 3 explained.
- the bag according to Figure 5 analogous to the version according to Figure 4 the opening 14 at the top.
- the upper edge of the bag can be provided with a reinforcing strip so that the opening 14 can be opened more easily.
- a roll Velcro fastener 19 is provided to close the inner compartment.
- the pocket is rolled up from above to a Velcro strip 19, then rolled a second time and closed with a second Velcro strip, not shown in the figure. (This second Velcro strip is attached on the back below the opening 14)
- the inner compartment is thereby closed essentially gas-tight.
- the lower area 3 of the bag is attached to the central area 2 of the bag by means of a further Velcro tape 20.
- the Velcro tape 20 projects beyond the edge of the bag on at least one side of the bag, so that the Velcro tape 20 can be easily gripped and released.
- the lower area with the fire extinguishers 10a, 10b can be quickly and easily separated from the rest of the pocket.
- the outer compartments 3a, 3b are provided with two tabs 21a, 21b.
- the two tabs 21a, 21b are attached to the lower part 3 of the bag and can be folded inwards in the transverse direction. In the folded-in state, the two tabs 21a, 21b close the openings of the outer compartments 3a, 3b and hold the fire extinguishers 10a, 10b.
- Two Velcro strips 22a, 22b, which are each attached to the tabs 21a, 21b, can be connected to one another, as a result of which the tabs 21a, 21b are fixed in the folded-in state.
