Definitions
- the invention relates to a centering clamping device according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a centering clamping device of the type mentioned is from EP 0 894 572 A1 known.
- This centering clamping device consists of a housing in which a centering element is mounted displaceably along a longitudinal axis between an open position and a clamping position, a finger element mounted transversely to the longitudinal axis between a retracted and an extended position being provided on the centering element, the finger element with an im Centering element displaceably mounted actuator is operatively connected.
- the invention is based on the object of improving a centering clamping device of the type mentioned at the beginning.
- a centering clamping device is to be created with a sequence of movements that is precisely coordinated with regard to the interaction of centering element and finger element.
- a blocking device is provided on the centering element which excludes a relative movement between the housing and the centering element when the finger element is fully retracted or a relative movement between the centering element and the actuator when the finger element is fully extended.
- the centering clamping device is characterized in that the blocking device ensures that in certain situations either a relative movement between the centering element and the housing or a relative movement between the centering element and the actuator is excluded.
- the blocking device ensures that in certain situations either a relative movement between the centering element and the housing or a relative movement between the centering element and the actuator is excluded.
- the above-mentioned open position is the position in which the centering element is in an extended, "upper” position and the finger element is in the retracted position ("inside” the centering element).
- the above-mentioned clamping position is the position in which the centering element is in a retracted, "lower” position and the finger element is in an extended position ("outside” the centering element).
- the sequence of movements according to the invention is therefore - starting from the open position - characterized in that a movement of the actuator (downwards) initially leads to the extension of the finger element. If this is extended, the further movement of the actuator leads to a movement of the centering element (downwards) until the clamping position is reached, i.e.
- the workpiece is firmly clamped between the finger element and the housing of the clamping device. If the clamping position is to be released again at a different point in time, a movement of the actuator (upwards) initially leads to a movement of the centering element (upwards), the finger element still being extended. At the latest when the centering element has reached the extended, "upper" position, a further movement of the actuator leads to the retraction of the finger element, ie a position of the clamping device in which the workpiece can be removed from the centering element.
- the use of the blocking device according to the invention thus leads to an improved coordination of the movement sequences, which has a very advantageous effect, for example (this will be discussed in more detail below) in metal sheets with centering holes whose edges are raised, since this one at the previous clamping device jamming of the finger element with the sheet metal can be avoided.
- the centering clamping device shown in the figures consists in a known manner initially of a housing 1 in which a preferably at least partially hollow cylindrical centering element 2 is mounted displaceably between an open position and a clamping position along a longitudinal axis, with a transverse or perpendicular to the centering element 2 Longitudinal axis between a retracted and an extended position displaceably mounted finger element 3 is provided, wherein the finger element 3 is operatively connected to a preferably cylindrical actuator 4 mounted displaceably in the centering element 2.
- a link guide 8 is arranged between the finger element 3 and the actuator 4. How out Figure 2 results, this is formed from a slit 8.2, groove or the like running obliquely to the longitudinal axis on the finger element 3 and from a feather key-like element 8.1, pin or the like guided in the slot 8.2 on the actuator 4 or vice versa. So if the actuator is 4 in Figure 2 shifted upwards, this leads to the fact that the finger element 3 is retracted, and vice versa.
- a blocking device 5 excluding a relative movement between the centering element 2 and the actuator 4 is provided on the centering element 2, either when the finger element 3 is completely retracted, a relative movement between the housing 1 and the centering element 2 or when the finger element 3 is fully extended.
- this requirement ensures that a collision between the finger element 3 and the workpiece 9, which has an upstanding collar 9.1, is avoided, since according to the invention it is ensured that the retraction and extension of the finger element 3 is always at least partially extended
- the centering element 2 is positioned, that is, when the finger element 3 is no longer in contact with the workpiece 9.
- the blocking device 5 which interacts on the one hand with the housing 1 and on the other hand with the actuator 4 and is arranged on the centering element 2, it is particularly preferred that it comprises a blocking element 5.1 that is displaceable transversely to the longitudinal axis. As shown, two or more of these blocking elements 5.1 can also be provided. It is particularly preferably provided that the blocking element 5.1 is designed as a body having a circular cross section at least in one spatial direction. If the body is designed as a cylindrical bolt, it accordingly has a circular cross-section or a cylindrical outer contour in exactly one spatial direction. This embodiment is not shown separately below, but it can also be implemented and is fully functional. If the blocking element 5.1, which is preferred and shown, is designed as a sphere, it has a circular cross-section or a spherical surface in all spatial directions.
- the blocking element 5.1 it is furthermore particularly preferred, as can be seen, that it is free of guide elements engaging in its body.
- a guide 2.1 for the blocking element 5.1 is provided on the centering element 2, it is furthermore particularly preferred that one or the length of the guide 2.1 is shorter than a corresponding length or diameter when viewed transversely to the longitudinal axis of the blocking element 5.1 is formed.
- Blocking element 5.1 allowing a relative movement between the centering element 2 and the actuator 4 or the blocking element 5.1, which is in contact with the other track section 6.2, is designed to prevent such a movement.
- a stop device 7 is provided to limit the displaceability of the actuator 4 to the centering element 2 on both sides, which consists of a stop element 7.1 arranged on the actuator 4 and on both sides of the stop element 7.1 (above and below) on the centering element 2 arranged abutments 7.2 is formed. Furthermore, a distance between the two abutments 7.2 that is parallel to the longitudinal axis is larger than an extension of the stop element 7.1 that is parallel to the longitudinal axis.
- the one abutment 7.2 is firmly but detachably connected to the centering element 2.
- the centering element 2 has a cylindrical guide space 2.2 for guiding the stop element, the two abutments 7.2 also preferably each forming a wall area of the guide space 2.2.
- the blocking element 5.1 is designed to interact with the stop element 7.1 (known from the prior art mentioned above). It is also particularly preferably provided that the stop element 7.1 has two sections 7.1.1, 7.1.2 as seen in the direction of the longitudinal axis.
- the first section 7.1.1 has a cylindrical outer contour that matches the guide space 2.2. In other words, this means that the first section 7.1.1 is designed to hold the blocking element 5.1 out of the guide space 2.2.
- the second section 7.1.2 is designed as a hyperboloid, with a largest diameter of the hyperboloid preferably corresponding to the diameter of the first section 7.1.1, and in addition the axis of rotation of the hyperboloid coincides with the longitudinal axis of the centering element.
- the second section 7.1.2 is designed as a guide curve for the blocking element 5.1, the transition from the first to the second section thus not being continuous (in the mathematical sense), but without jumps.
- the bodies or balls, which have a circular cross-section, can therefore slide well along the stop element 7.1.
- the centering clamping device according to the invention works as follows: The starting point for the explanation is Figure 4 . There the centering clamping device according to the invention is shown in the open position with the workpiece 9 placed on it (a sheet metal with a round opening and a collar 9.1 around the opening). The actuator 4 is in its highest position, the section 7.1.1 of the stop element 7.1 pressing the blocking element 5.1 outwards against the track section 6.2 and thus preventing a relative movement (downwards) between the housing 1 and the centering element 2 (upwards such a prevented by suitable shoulders on the housing 1 and on the centering element 2).
- Figure 5 shows the next setting step, in which the actuator 4, for example with the help of a suitable (cf. Figures 1 and 3 ) the pneumatic drive has been moved down until the first section 7.1.1 reaches the lower abutment 7.2 of the stop device 7.
- the aforementioned adjustment leads to the fact that the two finger elements 3, which are shown in FIG Figure 4 are still retracted, are now being extended.
- the (at least one) blocking element 5.1 here the two Balls
- FIG 8 the clamping position is shown in which the inversely hook-shaped finger elements 3, which have a recess for receiving a collar 9.1 of a workpiece 9 in the extended state on the centering and blocking element side, press the workpiece 9 against a corresponding support on the housing 1 of the centering clamping device.
- the two bodies or balls in this position together with the first track section 6.1 have the effect that the centering element 2 and the actuator 4 are fixed to one another, i.e. a relative movement between the two is excluded.

Description
The invention relates to a centering clamping device according to the preamble of
The invention is based on the object of improving a centering clamping device of the type mentioned at the beginning. In particular, a centering clamping device is to be created with a sequence of movements that is precisely coordinated with regard to the interaction of centering element and finger element.
This object is achieved with a centering clamping device of the type mentioned at the outset by the features listed in
According to the invention, it is provided that a blocking device is provided on the centering element which excludes a relative movement between the housing and the centering element when the finger element is fully retracted or a relative movement between the centering element and the actuator when the finger element is fully extended.
In other words, the centering clamping device according to the invention is characterized in that the blocking device ensures that in certain situations either a relative movement between the centering element and the housing or a relative movement between the centering element and the actuator is excluded. Considered more closely, provision is made in particular that whenever the finger element is completely retracted into the centering element, a relative movement between the centering element and the housing is excluded, with the result that a movement of the actuator initially only causes the finger element to extend . If the finger element is then extended, a further movement of the actuator leads to a movement of the centering element in relation to the housing. It is also provided at the same time that whenever the finger element is fully extended, a relative movement between the centering element and actuator is excluded, which means that a movement of the actuator initially only causes the centering element to move or extend. If the centering element is then extended, a further movement of the actuator leads to a movement of the finger element in relation to the centering element.
The above-mentioned open position is the position in which the centering element is in an extended, "upper" position and the finger element is in the retracted position ("inside" the centering element). The above-mentioned clamping position is the position in which the centering element is in a retracted, "lower" position and the finger element is in an extended position ("outside" the centering element). The sequence of movements according to the invention is therefore - starting from the open position - characterized in that a movement of the actuator (downwards) initially leads to the extension of the finger element. If this is extended, the further movement of the actuator leads to a movement of the centering element (downwards) until the clamping position is reached, i.e. the workpiece is firmly clamped between the finger element and the housing of the clamping device.
As follows from the above explanations, the use of the blocking device according to the invention thus leads to an improved coordination of the movement sequences, which has a very advantageous effect, for example (this will be discussed in more detail below) in metal sheets with centering holes whose edges are raised, since this one at the previous clamping device jamming of the finger element with the sheet metal can be avoided.
Other advantageous developments of the centering clamping device according to the invention emerge from the dependent claims.

The centering clamping device according to the invention, including its advantageous developments according to the dependent claims, is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing of a preferred exemplary embodiment.

The centering clamping device shown in the figures consists in a known manner initially of a
It is now essential for the centering clamping device according to the invention that on the
With regard to the
Regardless of the actual external shape of the blocking element 5.1, it is furthermore particularly preferred, as can be seen, that it is free of guide elements engaging in its body.
In this context, a
Furthermore, as already known from the aforementioned prior art, a
Another preferred special feature of the solution according to the invention is that the blocking element 5.1 is designed to interact with the stop element 7.1 (known from the prior art mentioned above). It is also particularly preferably provided that the stop element 7.1 has two sections 7.1.1, 7.1.2 as seen in the direction of the longitudinal axis.
Considered even more closely, it is provided that the first section 7.1.1 has a cylindrical outer contour that matches the guide space 2.2. In other words, this means that the first section 7.1.1 is designed to hold the blocking element 5.1 out of the guide space 2.2.
Finally, it is particularly preferably provided that the second section 7.1.2 is designed as a hyperboloid, with a largest diameter of the hyperboloid preferably corresponding to the diameter of the first section 7.1.1, and in addition the axis of rotation of the hyperboloid coincides with the longitudinal axis of the centering element. Expressed again in other words, it is provided that the second section 7.1.2 is designed as a guide curve for the blocking element 5.1, the transition from the first to the second section thus not being continuous (in the mathematical sense), but without jumps. The bodies or balls, which have a circular cross-section, can therefore slide well along the stop element 7.1.
