Abstract

A heater (20) is provided which has a heating chamber (22) divided into a plurality of heating compartments (23), each operably to provide heat in a respective heating direction. The heater (2) includes a respective heating element (21) for each heating compartment (23), and the operation of at least one of the heating elements (23) is independently controllable from the operation of at least one other heating element (23). There is also provided a gas burner assembly (11) the heat (2) and a control system (44, 45) controlling the operation of the heating element (23).
