Abstract

The convertible furniture comprises a plurality of rigid elements (1-16) that can be combined in variable arrangements, permitting to form with them optionally at least a cradle, in a first mode, or cradle mode, and at least a bed, in a second mode, or bed mode, characterised in that it comprises a spacer (17) that determines and separates, at both of its sides, in the cradle mode, two contiguous cradles (30, 40); a common bed base (7) of both contiguous cradles (30, 40) that is converted into the bed base (207) of a first bed (200) in the bed mode; and common side wall (8) of both contiguous cradles (30, 40) in the cradle mode, that is converted into the bed base (308) of a second bed (300) in the bed mode.

Description

Field of the invention

The present invention refers to a convertible furniture, constituted by a plurality of rigid elements that can combined in variable arrangements, permitting to form with them optionally at least a cradle, in a first mode, or cradle mode, and at least a bed, in a second mode, or bed mode. Specifically, the present invention refers to a double cradle for babies, that can be converted into two beds.

Background of the invention

Some embodiments of convertible furniture are known in the art. As closest prior art it can be cited the lapsed Spanish utility model ES 1020282U , which discloses a cradle that can be transformed into a bed and a desk for children, composed by two sides and two headboards, joined by bolts forming a rectangle, and with protrusions glued inside the sides, on which the bed base rests, forming the bed.
The present invention has the objective of providing an enhanced embodiment of a convertible furniture.

Disclosure of the invention

To this end, the object of the present invention is a convertible furniture, with a novel concept and design, that is characterised in that it comprises:

a spacer that determines and separates, at its both sides, two contiguous cradles, in the cradle mode;
a common bed base of the two contiguous cradles that is converted in the common bed of a first bed, in the bed mode; and
a common side wall of the two contiguous cradles in the cradle mode, that is converted in the bed base of a second bed, in the bed mode.

According to another feature of the present invention, the convertible furniture comprises elements that in the cradle mode are lower drawers of the contiguous cradles, and that are converted in night stands in the bed mode.
According to a feature of the present invention, the convertible furniture comprises closure elements of a housing in the cradle mode, and that are converted in side walls of the beds in the bed mode.
According to another feature of the present invention, the convertible furniture comprises headboards of the cradles in the cradle mode, that are converted into side walls of the beds in the bed mode.

Hereinafter a detailed description of a preferred embodiment of the convertible furniture of the present invention is provided, and to be understood better some drawings are attached, only as a non-limitative example, in which:

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a convertible furniture according to the invention, in its cradle mode, with its elements assembled;
Fig. 2 is an exploded view of the convertible furniture of Fig. 1; and
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the convertible furniture of Fig. 1, in its assembled position in the bed mode, in which both beds are shown, assembled from the elements shown in Fig. 2.

Detailed description of the drawings

In said drawings it can be seen that the convertible furniture of the present invention is a double cradle 100, formed by two cradles 30, 40 separated by a spacer 17 (Fig. 1).
The furniture is formed by a plurality of rigid elements 1-16 (see Fig. 2, in an exploded view), that can be combined in variable arrangements, that permit to form with them said two cradles 30, 40, in a first mode, or cradle mode (Fig. 1), and two beds 200, 300, in a second mode, or bed mode (Fig. 3). There are other elements, a spacer 17 and a protective fence 18, 19, that are only used in the cradle mode, as protective elements for babies.
The furniture, in its double cradle 100 mode, comprises a common bed base 7 for both contiguous cradles 30, 40, that is converted into the bed base 207 of a first bed 200 in the bed mode, and a common side wall 8 of both contiguous cradles 30, 40 in the cradle mode, that is converted in the bed base 308 of a second bed 300 in the bed mode.
The cradles 30, 40 in the bed mode comprise lower drawers 13, 14, 15 and 16, from which two of them 14 and 15 are converted into corresponding night stands 214, 215 in the bed mode.
In the cradle mode, the cradle furniture 100 comprises a housing 20 (that can be used as a wardrobe, for example), with closure elements 9, 16 (see Fig. 1) that are converted into side walls 209, 316 of the beds 200, 300 in the bed mode (Fig. 2).
The cradles comprise headboard elements 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 of the cradles 30, 40 in the cradle mode, that are converted into side walls 301, 302, 303, 204, 205, 206 of the beds 200, 300 in the bed mode.
The nature of the present invention, and also in way to be carried out, have been disclosed, and it must be pointed out that anything that does not change or modify its scope, according to the claims, is subjected to detail variations.

Claims

Convertible furniture comprising a plurality of rigid elements (1-16) that can be combined in variable arrangements, permitting to form with them optionally at least a cradle, in a first mode, or cradle mode, and at least a bed, in a second mode, or bed mode, characterised in that it comprises:
a spacer (17) that determines and separates, at both of its sides, in the cradle mode, two contiguous cradles (30, 40);

a common bed base (7) of both contiguous cradles (30, 40) that is converted into the bed base (207) of a first bed (200) in the bed mode; and

a common side wall (8) of both contiguous cradles (30, 40) in the cradle mode, that is converted into the bed base (308) of a second bed (300) in the bed mode.
Convertible furniture according to claim 1, wherein it comprises elements (14, 15) that in the cradle mode are lower drawers (114, 115) of the contiguous cradles (30, 40), and they are converted in night stands (214, 125) in the bed mode.
Convertible furniture according to claim 1, wherein it comprises closure elements (9, 16) of a housing (20) in the cradle mode, and that are converted in side walls (209, 316) of the beds (200, 300) in the bed mode.
Convertible furniture according to claim 1, wherein it comprises headboard elements (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) of the cradles (30, 40) in the cradle mode, that are converted into side walls (301, 302, 303, 204, 205, 206) of the beds (200, 300) in the bed mode.
