[0001] Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Warmhaltung von Koksofenkammern während des Stillstandes eines Abhitzekessels, wobei dieser Abhitzekessel zur Erzeugung von Dampf oder heißem Wasser während des Betriebes mindestens einer Koksofenkammer dient, und das Verfahren eine Warmhaltung der Koksofenkammern einer Koksofenbatterie gestattet, wobei die Koksofenkammern statt durch Verkokung durch fremdbeheizte Brenner warmgehalten werden, deren Schadstoffausstoß durch die Art der Beheizung gering ist, so dass während des Stillstandes ein verringerter Ausstoß an Schadstoffen erfolgt. Die Erfindung betrifft auch eine Vorrichtung zur Warmhaltung von Koksofenkammern während des Stillstandes eines Abhitzekessels, wobei diese Vorrichtung Koksofenkammern enthält, die mindestens einen fremdbeheizten Brenner umfassen, wobei unter fremdbeheizt insbesondere ein gas- oder ölbeheizter Brenner zu verstehen ist.
