Dieses ist gegenüber der weiteren, die Haaraufnahme einfassenden Zinke bewegbar gelagert. Dem ersten Formteil jeder Haaraufnahme ist ein zweites Formteil zugeordnet. Zwischen den beiden Formteilen, die für den Prozess des Haarformens unter Vorspannung stehend gegeneinander wirken, befindet sich ein Haarformspalt, in den eine zum Glätten vorgesehene Haarsträhne eingelegt wird. Das Glätten als solches wird durch Ansetzen der Haarglättvorrichtung an dem zur Haarwurzel weisenden Ende des zu glättenden Haarabschnittes, Einlegen der Haarsträhnen in die Haaraufnahmen des Glättwerkzeuges und Hindurchziehen der durch die Haaraufnahmen erfassten Haarsträhnen durch das Glättwerkzeug. Dies hat zum Vorteil, dass eine solchermaßen konzipierte Haarglättvorrichtung relativ klein bauend ausgelegt werden kann. Als elektrische Heizeinrichtung eignet sich ein beispielsweise an den zumindest einen die Formteile miteinander verbindenden Steg angebrachtes PTC-Heizelement. Die Wärme gut leitenden Eigenschaften erlauben ein rasches und gleichmäßiges Erwärmen der Formteileinheit und damit der zu dieser Einheit gehörenden Formteile. Grundsätzlich ist es möglich, an entsprechender Position ebenfalls eine andere elektrische Widerstandsheizung anzuordnen. Ferner besteht die Möglichkeit, bei einer im Wege eines Gussverfahrens hergestellten Formteileinheit ein elektrisches Widerstandsheizelement in die Formteile zu integrieren, welches Heizelement sodann von der Formteileinheit umgeben ist. Eine solche Ausgestaltung gestattet ein besonders rasches Erwärmen der einzelnen Formteile. Bei einer solchen Ausgestaltung ist es zweckmäßig, diese zweite Formteileinheit ebenfalls aus einem Wärme gut leitenden Material, beispielsweise einer Aluminiumlegierung, etwa im Wege eines Gussverfahrens herzustellen. Bei dieser Ausgestaltung können die zweiten Formteile ebenfalls mit einer wie zu der vorbeschriebenen ersten Formteileinheit konzipierten Heizung ausgestattet sein. Bei dieser Ausgestaltung sind jeweils die beiden miteinander zum Ausbilden eines Haarformspaltes zusammenwirkenden Formteile beheizt. Grundsätzlich wird es jedoch als ausreichend angesehen, wenn nur eines der beiden Formteile beheizt wird.
