Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft einen wassergekühlter Deckel (10) für ein Behandlungsgefäss (1) für Metallschmelzen, wobei das vorzugsweise feuerfest ausgemauerte Behandlungsgefäss (1) insbesondere zur Behandlung von flüssigem Metall, insbesondere von Stahl durch Einblasen von Feststoffen oder Gasen oder induktivem Rühren an Atmosphäre oder im Vakuum dient. Erfindungsgemäß ist es vorgesehen, dass der Deckel (10) domartig ausgebildet ist, wobei das Verhältnis von innerer lichter Höhe (h) zu innerem lichten Durchmesser (D) eines Flansches (12) des Deckels (10) mindestens 0,2 beträgt, dass eine Innenwand (14) des Deckels (10) auf der der Metallschmelze zugewandten Seite im wesentlichen glatt, ri!!en- und spaltfrei ausgebildet ist, und dass auf der Außenseite der Innenwand (14) angeordnete Kühlkanäle (15) vorgesehen sind, durch die die Oberflächentemperatur der Innenwand (14) auf eine Temperatur von maximal 350°C gehalten wird.
